Bank of Singapore appoints new head of alternative investments.

Bank of Singapore appoints new head of alternative investments. Benjamin Low joins Bank of Singapore from Cambridge Associates. 29 July 2026 Bank of Singapore has announced the appointment of Benjamin Low as head of alternative investments with effect from 17 August 2026. In his role, Low will lead the growth of the bank's alternatives platform - including private equity, private credit, venture capital, infrastructure and real estate - to meet the investment needs of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. Based in Singapore, he will report to Jean Chia, global chief investment officer. Low joins Bank of Singapore with over 15 years of institutional leadership experience across alternatives strategy, portfolio positioning and manager selection. Most recently, he was head of Asia hedge funds research at Cambridge Associates, where he advised on multi-billion-dollar portfolios for leading endowments, family offices, pension funds and corporate investors. Commenting on Low's appointment, Chia said: "We are excited to welcome Benjamin to further strengthen our investment leadership bench. His strong track record advising sophisticated institutional investors will be instrumental as we focus on our whole portfolio approach to deliver best-in-class investment solutions and differentiated opportunities." "I am confident that Benjamin's expertise will enhance our current capabilities to help clients build resilient, long-term portfolios with greater diversification into alternatives and enhanced portfolio returns, particularly amid today's heightened macroeconomic uncertainty." Earlier this year, Yazid Mahadi, head of funds selection, had his responsibilities expanded to include the development and curation of the bank's hedge fund offering to meet increasing client demand. Amid an increasingly uncertain market environment, interest in alternative investments continues to rise as investors look to diversify their portfolios, mitigate risk and achieve more consistent income and returns. According to private capital database provider Preqin, the global alternatives industry is expected to reach $32trn in assets under management by 2030. MORE ARTICLES ON

S&P Global, Cambridge Associates and Mercer launch private markets datasets for credit and real assets

S&P Global has launched the S&P Global, Cambridge Associates, Mercer Private Markets Performance Analytics datasets, the first release from a collaboration announced in 2025. The datasets provide standardised data across thousands of funds in private credit and real assets, with private equity datasets following later in 2026. Powered by S&P Global's iLEVEL platform, the datasets use a proprietary taxonomy to standardise, aggregate and anonymise data, enabling investors to compare performance, manage risk and assess portfolio impacts. The service supports both limited partners and general partners in analysing performance and making allocation decisions. The datasets are now available globally, with use cases including portfolio monitoring, risk management and competitive insights. Future releases will include data feed APIs and integrated software solutions.
