About the company

Intel designs and manufactures semiconductor chips, with a focus on microprocessors for personal computers, servers, and other devices. Its core product is the CPU on a single silicon chip, which executes instructions, handles arithmetic and logic operations, and coordinates the work of other computer components. Intel originated in memory chips but shifted decisively to microprocessors in the 1980s, becoming a central supplier for the PC era after the IBM partnership and its famous x86 processor line. This shift, large-scale manufacturing, and close ties with computer makers set Intel apart from competitors who remained focused on memory or other components. The company aims to power computing by delivering high-performance, energy-efficient silicon solutions that drive a wide range of computing devices and applications.

Dell vs Intel: $113.5B revenue growth against a turnaround bet for 2027

Dell Technologies and Intel offer investors two different bets on the hardware market heading into 2027. Dell is the proven seller of IT systems; Intel is remaking itself as a chip manufacturer for other companies. Dell's revenue for the fiscal year ended January 30, 2026, rose about 18.8% to $113.5 billion. Net income was roughly $5.9 billion, a net margin of about 5.2%, and free cash flow reached about $8.6 billion. Intel's revenue for the year ended December 27, 2025, slipped about 0.5% to $52.9 billion. It posted a net loss of roughly $267.0 million as it invests heavily in its foundry business.

Intel shareholder probe opens after 25.7% share drop on weak $15B-$16B Q4 forecast

Law firm Levi & Korsinsky is investigating whether Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) made false or misleading statements about its business conditions and revenue outlook. The probe, run under its SueWallSt brand, targets shareholders who lost money. Intel shares fell about $23.72, or more than 25.7%, by market open on October 30, 2026. The drop followed its third-quarter report, which forecast fourth-quarter revenue of about $15 billion to $16 billion, below Wall Street consensus. Client Computing, Intel's PC segment, reported revenue down 5% year over year. Management blamed continued PC market softness, and analysts cut ratings and price targets. Investors who bought Intel shares may take part, even if they have sold. There is no upfront cost.

AI spending fears wipe $5T off Nasdaq 100 as Alphabet and Intel shares plunge

Worries about heavy AI spending have wiped an estimated $5 trillion off the value of big tech companies. The Nasdaq 100 fell more than 9% between its October 6 peak and the end of the month. The rout began when Alphabet reported third-quarter results on October 28. Diluted earnings per share fell 26.1% year-on-year to $2.12, against analyst forecasts of $3.02, and Google Search revenue growth slowed to 12% from 17%. Alphabet's shares dropped 12.6% the next day, wiping $463 billion off its market value. Intel fell 28.6% on October 30 after a bleak fourth-quarter forecast. Investors now want to know when AI spending will pay off, analysts said. Earnings from Apple, Palantir, and Advanced Micro Devices will be key to whether stocks recover.

ZKH and Intel launch 4B-parameter industrial AI model to verify goods at the edge

ZKH Group (NYSE: ZKH), a Chinese maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) procurement platform, has launched an industrial AI model with Intel. Its AI subsidiary, LingLong Intelligence, unveiled LingLong Insight 1.0 at Intel Connection 2026 in Suzhou, China. The model reads images and text to help workers check delivered goods. Industrial cameras capture delivery documents, packaging, and labels; the model then identifies items, checks their specifications, and flags mismatches before receipt is confirmed. With 4 billion parameters, it runs locally on LingLong Agent Box with Intel Core Ultra processors, which cuts latency and reliance on the cloud. It draws on more than 27 million ZKH product records. LingLong Intelligence plans to extend the model to warehouse checks, production-line material verification, and equipment maintenance. The two companies also intend to explore global markets together.

Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) faces A critical earnings test as Intel's memory warning casts doubt on phone recovery thesis.

Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) faces A critical earnings test as Intel's memory warning casts doubt on phone recovery thesis. A single earnings report on November 4 may determine whether Qualcomm's (NASDAQ: QCOM) bullish smartphone recovery narrative survives contact with a deepening memory shortage crisis. The pressure arrived dramatically on October 30, when QCOM shares shed 11.12% to close at $164.79, pulled down partly by Intel's catastrophic quarterly guidance miss and a 2.86% Nasdaq Composite decline, the index's worst single-day drop since June. Intel's (INTC) own shares collapsed 28.58% that day after the chipmaker guided fourth-quarter revenue to between $15 billion and $16 billion, well short of the roughly $17 billion analysts had projected. More alarming for the broader semiconductor sector, Intel warned that industry PC unit volumes could shrink approximately 12% in 2026 and a further 10% in 2027, as memory shortages drive component prices higher. A plant accident in Israel will strip an additional $300 million from Intel's fourth-quarter revenue, though the bulk of the damage stems from demand destruction rather than isolated operational issues. The Intel warning cuts directly at a claim Qualcomm's own CFO and COO, Akash Palkhiwala, made at Goldman Sachs' Communacopia conference on September 8, where he declared of smartphones, "we're at the low point in the cycle. Things can only go up from here." Palkhiwala pointed to memory pressures easing as a key reason for his optimism, specifically citing "the impact that we are seeing from memory in the short term kind of resolving through," a view Intel's guidance now directly contradicts. Qualcomm's exposure to the memory crunch runs on two tracks simultaneously: its handset chips and its PC processors both compete for the same constrained memory supply that is squeezing the broader industry. The company's newest PC win, a BlueChip defense laptop developed with Anduril and powered by Snapdragon X chips, illustrates the timing problem, as customer orders for that product do not open until 2027. Qualcomm management had separately told investors that Chinese smartphone manufacturers, a critical revenue source, likely hit their revenue trough in the June quarter and would post double-digit sequential growth in the September quarter, which is precisely the period the November 4 report will cover. Analysts are also watching the December-quarter guidance closely, with consensus expectations sitting around $10.6 billion, roughly 14% below the $12.25 billion Qualcomm posted in the same period a year earlier. A guide near that $10.6 billion level would be consistent with a bottoming pattern, while a softer outlook would suggest memory costs are still actively suppressing smartphone build schedules across the industry. Amazon (AMZN), which has recently become a Qualcomm data center customer, also fell on October 30 after its own results reignited concerns about the pace and sustainability of AI-related capital spending. Beyond the near-term earnings test, Qualcomm's longer-term investment case rests on scaling its data center and automotive businesses while handset volumes gradually stabilize and recover. At approximately 18 times forward earnings, Qualcomm trades in line with peers Nvidia at roughly 17 times and Broadcom at roughly 19 times, leaving limited valuation cushion if November 4 delivers another downside surprise. A 37-analyst consensus tracked by TIKR points to a street price target of around $196, while TIKR's own mid-case model, using assumptions of roughly 10% annual revenue growth and a 25% net margin through 2035, implies a target near $378, representing a potential total return of approximately 130% at an annualized rate of roughly 24%. Fiscal 2027 normalized earnings per share are expected by analysts at roughly $10.19, actually below the roughly $10.48 projected for fiscal 2026, a trajectory that underscores how much the memory squeeze is still weighing on near-term earnings power. No Qualcomm-specific negative catalyst emerged on October 30, meaning the stock's sharp decline reflected sector contagion rather than company-specific deterioration, but the November 4 report now carries the burden of proving that distinction is justified.
