Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in accounting or finance.
  • Seven or more years of experience from an alternative investment firm, public accounting firm, and/or fund administrator.
  • Four or more years of experience with private credit and/or equity fund accounting and operations.
  • Knowledge of partnership accounting, closed-end fund structures including closes, capital calls, and distributions, fee structures including management fees, carried interest, and clawbacks, and private equity and/or private credit investment transactions.
  • Proficient knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to research and apply technical accounting and financial statement presentation rules.
  • Experience in one or more private asset classes, including private equity, credit, real estate, or infrastructure.
  • Experience with complex fund structures such as master-feeders, parallel funds, Luxembourg-domiciled private funds, warehouses, real estate investment trusts, rated-note feeders, and semi-liquid or evergreen structures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a client-service orientation.
  • A strong inclination to develop processes and enhance controls, identifying opportunities for efficiency and risk reduction.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, perform multiple projects, and balance competing priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the quarterly net asset value and financial statement process for assigned funds, reviewing work prepared by the third-party administrator.
  • Review complex private portfolio company and/or private credit transactions, waterfall and carried-interest calculations, tiered management-fee arrangements, and gross and net internal-rate-of-return calculations.
  • Ensure accounting and presentation are consistent with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and limited partnership agreements.
  • Assist with day-to-day fund operations, including planning and coordinating capital calls and distributions and reviewing calculations and notices produced by the third-party administrator.
  • Oversee fund fees and expenses, cash and capital management, and coordination of deal funding.
  • Oversee the annual audit process for assigned funds, coordinating with the fund administrator and auditors.
  • Contribute industry and operational knowledge to product development and new fund launches.
  • Enhance and expand internal accounting and finance policies and procedures to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Assist Investment, Investor Relations, Tax, and Compliance teams by providing information and data to respond to queries and performing ad hoc analyses based on fund or investor activity.
  • Develop relationships with centralized Wellington teams and external service providers.
  • Lead and support projects associated with the funds, Wellington’s operational and systems infrastructure, and service providers.
  • Perform peer reviews of other team members and oversee junior team members.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of or progress toward a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, or Master of Business Administration qualification.
  • Knowledge of open-ended fund structures, including series accounting, performance fees with a high-water mark, and dealing-date cash flows.
  • Experience with or a desire to develop skills in Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx.

Clay raises funding at $7B valuation, more than doubling in a year

Clay, a New York-based startup selling AI tools for sales and marketing teams, has agreed to a new funding round led by Wellington Management at a $7 billion pre-money valuation, Axios reported on 31 August. The round's exact size has not been disclosed, and it is unclear whether it has fully closed. The valuation marks Clay's third jump in about a year, up from $3.1 billion in August 2025 and $5 billion in a January 2026 employee tender offer led by DST Global. The company was founded in 2017 by Kareem Amin and Nicolae Rusan. Clay markets itself as a go-to-market platform that pulls data from over 150 external sources and uses AI agents to research prospects and personalise outbound sales messages. Its customers reportedly include OpenAI, Anthropic, and Canva.

Avere Therapeutics raises $500M to advance once-weekly oral IL-23 therapy AVR-001

Avere Therapeutics announced a $500 million private placement to advance AVR-001, its once-weekly oral IL-23 receptor antagonist for inflammatory diseases. Leading healthcare investors including Venrock Healthcare Capital Partners, General Atlantic, Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing, and Wellington Management participated in the funding round. Combined with a previously announced $320 million concurrent private investment, the proceeds will fully fund Avere's operations through 2029. Tarsus Pharmaceuticals raises $125M in oversubscribed PIPE financing to fund Alkeus acquisition

Tarsus Pharmaceuticals has secured $125 million through an oversubscribed private placement equity financing. The transaction includes participation from investors in Alkeus Pharmaceuticals, which Tarsus announced it would acquire earlier the same day.
