Requirements
  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • Experience as a business owner or 10 or more years in a related field with proven leadership experience and business results is required.
  • Ability to use management best practices to motivate employees to achieve high standards of inclusion and performance.
  • Excellent judgment for prioritizing work to meet competing needs and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments, set priorities, and execute appropriate action.
  • Proven analysis experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work successfully with a diverse range of internal and external individuals and groups.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, resolve community and neighbor concerns, and prepare written reports and correspondence on behalf of the Operations Support Division.
  • Proven ability to effectively supervise and/or direct the work of subordinates, peers, and contractors.
  • Thorough knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the division.
Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, analyze, and implement new programs and initiatives that improve safety, increase service quality and reliability, and maximize overall value for Kamehameha Schools.
  • Lead multiple work groups executing daily services for transportation, facilities maintenance and repair, custodial services, grounds keeping, recreational facilities, dining, and other service offerings; streamline business processes and reduce costs or increase overall value.
  • Use best-practices management skills and model valued behaviors to motivate and guide the Operations Support workforce, manage individual and team performance, and resolve conflicts.
  • Prepare, recommend, and manage annual budgets; authorize expenditures, explain variances, and oversee daily departmental operations.
  • Ensure compliance with county, state, and federal occupational safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations, guidelines, and Kamehameha Schools policies and procedures.
  • Meet with campus-community constituents to gather input and feedback, outline initiatives, address complaints and concerns, and represent Kamehameha Schools.
  • Develop standards for safety, service quality, productivity, individual and team performance, and costs, and develop and execute strategies to achieve them.
  • Determine the appropriate combination of full-time, part-time, and on-call employees, vendors, and contractors to meet client service needs and value-added objectives.
  • Partner with campus and Kamehameha Schools departments to align strategies with policies and values, enhance reputation, and minimize risks and liability.
  • Provide assistance to other campus or Kamehameha Schools departments and reliably deliver on service requests.
  • Align Operations Support programs and initiatives with the Kamehameha Schools vision and strategic plan.
  • Monitor tactical plans, identify risks, and develop and execute contingency plans to achieve optimal results.
  • Delegate authority for tactical-plan execution to managers and monitor their progress and performance, providing course corrections as needed.
  • Ensure day-to-day operations and services are delivered safely, reliably, on time, at a high level of quality, and cost-effectively.
  • Familiarize oneself with applicable policies, codes, regulations, statutes, and internal resources and ensure ethical and compliant operations.
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information and protect student and employee privacy.
  • Develop, forecast, manage, and monitor budgets for functions under the Associate Director's direction to ensure responsible funding requests, appropriate expenditures, and predictable year-end results.
