Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Licensed Physician - Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine
  • Background checks/clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic oversight and clinical leadership for all medical services within University Health Services.
  • Serve as mentor, consultant, and leader for physicians, advanced care providers, nurses, and ancillary staff.
  • Champion evidence-based clinical excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with quality assurance and patient satisfaction.
  • Serve as a liaison to the broader Penn State community and local medical partners, collaborating with campus stakeholders including Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Promotion and Wellness, Residence Life, and Student Care and Advocacy to support holistic student wellness.
  • Partner with UHS Community Health to shape the clinical content of educational outreach and public health initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Management, Information Technology, and the Assistant Director for UHS Operations to ensure efficient, effective, and student-focused healthcare delivery.
Desired Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree license eligibility in Pennsylvania, DEA Registration, and Board Certification in a primary care specialty (family medicine, internal medicine, or pediatrics) is preferred.
  • Managerial experience in a healthcare organization and leading multidisciplinary teams within a shared management model is preferred.
  • Understanding of college health, orientation to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a collaborative approach to healthcare is preferred.
