Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management or a related field, or an Associate's degree in Healthcare Management or a related field plus two years of registration experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent plus three years of registration experience.
  • Functional knowledge of ADT and related systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Skill in using and applying Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations, including the impact of Patient Access products on reimbursement.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance verification, pre-certification, billing, and collection procedures.
  • Ability to organize and implement various programs.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Integration and Quality Assurance Coordinator in organizing and reallocating work to team members to maintain quality assurance processes for registration reporting to the Patient Access Department and non-reporting sites across the organization.
  • Perform audits to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of all reports worked by the Quality Assurance Auditor team.
  • Guide new Quality Assurance Auditors in learning how to work the reports.
  • Under the direction of the coordinator, take on additional unassigned reports to help the team get back on track.
  • In the absence of the coordinator and manager, assign and reallocate work to team members when callouts arise.
  • Process error disputes within the quality assurance system and provide timely feedback to staff.
  • Review accounts for financial resolution opportunities and performance opportunities.
  • Observe areas for operational flow opportunities.
  • Review patient satisfaction data and detailed patient comments for feedback and quality assurance application.
  • Perform compliance process audits, including Important Message from Medicare, Medicaid plan applications, Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires, and annual required signatures on file, including at Georgia Cancer Center and Atlanta Cancer Care sites.
  • Audit documents located in the imaging and account assignment system.
  • Perform other types of audits as assigned.
  • Reassign scanned images as needed.
  • Attend training team meetings.
  • Evaluate and complete the weekly quality report, analyze data trends, and make recommendations for training needs.
  • Perform the duties of a Patient Access Representative, Room Control Representative, and Secretary/Scheduler, and make recommendations for training needs.
  • Review reports to reconcile and update patient account information between multiple systems.
  • Help schedule and register accounts during acquisitions and onboarding.
