Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved nurse aide training program, testing, and certification as required by the State of Ohio.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/STNA) certification is required in Ohio; applicants must have passed the state test and be listed on the Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Applicants must be in good standing with the Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Applicants must have good communication skills and be able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Applicants must have good documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants must be able to use proper lift technique and lift equipment to move, lift, and transfer residents.
Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with preventative, therapeutic, and restorative nursing procedures while adhering to safety and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene, feeding, dressing, ambulation, and transfers.
  • Complete required documentation and report defective equipment or other potential safety hazards.
  • Work respectfully and cooperatively with residents, families, healthcare team members, and other employees.
  • Attend required in-service programs in accordance with facility and state and federal guidelines.
  • Respect and maintain residents' dignity, privacy, and confidentiality according to the Residents' Bill of Rights.
  • Perform other assigned duties, including soiled linen disposal.
  • Provide a wide range of support services under the supervision of a nurse.
  • Help residents remain comfortable and as independent as possible in their daily lives.
  • Provide accurate, efficient, and timely care documentation.
  • Perform other duties as needs arise or are assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
