Fixed Asset & Tax Accountant
About the job
- Ensure fixed asset and construction-in-progress accounting complies with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and supporting documentation, reconcile fixed asset and construction-in-progress balances to the general ledger, investigate variances, and submit reports accurately and on time.
- Ensure appropriate asset classification, capitalisation timing, useful lives, and cost allocation when reviewing capital expenditure and project status with plant functions.
- Keep asset tags, locations, custodians, and status accurately updated; resolve discrepancies identified through periodic physical inventories.
- Prepare tax supporting schedules and reconciliations, explain book-to-tax differences, and respond to tax filing, audit, and information requests.
- Ensure compliance with finance policies, statutory requirements, and plant environmental, health, and safety rules.
- Manage end-to-end accounting for fixed assets and construction in progress, including additions, capitalisation, transfers, depreciation, impairment, retirement, and disposal.
- Complete month-end activities and prepare and submit relevant fixed asset reports.
- Partner with plant functions to review capital expenditure and project status.
- Coordinate periodic physical inventories.
- Serve as the key liaison with the Tax team for tax reporting, reconciliations, audits, and compliance requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and strengthen fixed asset controls and reporting efficiency.
