LinkedIn enables professional networking for career development, hiring, learning, and business relationship-building. It offers member profiles, company pages, job listings, messaging, content feeds, and specialized tools for recruiters, marketers, and sellers. Its Talent Solutions support hiring workflows, Marketing Solutions handle professional advertising, Premium subscriptions unlock advanced search and messaging, and LinkedIn Learning provides skills courses. The platform operates on a freemium, multi-sided model with paid tiers that complement the free network. A key differentiator is its role as Microsoft's professional network layer, tying into the broader Microsoft ecosystem while serving job seekers, recruiters, educators, and businesses. The goal is to connect professionals and organizations so people can find opportunities, share expertise, and grow their careers.

Ryan Roslansky, Microsoft's executive vice president and former LinkedIn CEO, will leave the company at the end of 2026. Roslansky, who joined LinkedIn in 2009 and became CEO in 2020, cited family ties to the San Francisco Bay Area as his reason for departing. He will remain as an adviser to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella through December. His exit follows a string of executive departures at Microsoft, including gaming chief Phil Spencer and Office executive Rajesh Jha. Roslansky moved into Microsoft 365 oversight earlier this year after Dan Shapero became LinkedIn's CEO. During Roslansky's six-year tenure leading LinkedIn, membership grew from 700 million to 1.3 billion users. LinkedIn posted 11% revenue growth for Microsoft's most recent fiscal year.

Yiwen Wu, an artist-innovator combining generative AI with 3D visual arts, has unveiled two proprietary technology systems and an academic paper aimed at transforming 3D content production across film, gaming, virtual reality, and digital marketing. The Deep Learning-Based 3D Digital Art Generation and Intelligent Rendering System uses deep-learning models to convert creative inputs into production-ready 3D assets. The AI-Based Automatic 3D Visual Content Generation and Interactive Design Platform enables real-time human-AI co-creation, allowing artists to interactively refine automated content. Wu's systems integrate neural radiance fields, 3D Gaussian splatting, and diffusion-based generation into end-to-end workflows. Her accompanying paper, *Creative Innovation Research on the Integration of Artificial Intelligence Technology and 3D Visual Art*, examines how AI is reshaping creative work. Wu emphasises augmentation over replacement, stating: "AI is not here to replace artists; it's here to amplify their capabilities.
LinkedIn has flagged over one million AI-generated posts through its new "seems like AI slop" button in just two weeks since launch. The feature allows users to report suspected AI content, resulting in a 40% reduction in views for flagged posts. Chief Product Officer Hari Srinivasan acknowledged more work is needed to maintain authentic content on the platform. Research shows LinkedIn faces particular challenges with AI content. Startup Pangram found over 40% of LinkedIn's longform posts were completely AI-generated, making it "the most AI-saturated platform" among text-based social media sites. The issue extends across the internet. Cloudflare reported that AI web traffic has surpassed human users for the first time, with bots now accounting for 61.9% of search requests. A Pew Research Centre study found 10% of webpages showed significant signs of AI authorship in July 2026. LinkedIn will expand verification features and remove its AI post enhancement tool.
