- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, specifically Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of metalworking processes, including welding, stamping, machining, and finishing.
- Direct experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, Production Part Approval Process, and Advanced Product Quality Planning.
- Proficiency in reading engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency operating inspection equipment, including coordinate measuring machines, calipers, and micrometers.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate cross-functionally.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes across metal stamping, welding, laser cutting, e-coat or powder coating, computer numerical control machining, and assembly.
- Partner with Production and Engineering teams to integrate quality standards into product design and manufacturing workflows.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues using root cause analysis tools, including 5-Why, Fishbone Diagrams, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
- Develop and execute Corrective and Preventive Action plans.
- Support and lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct internal audits and assist with external customer and registrar audits for ISO and IATF compliance.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics, including parts per million, scrap rates, rework costs, and customer complaints.
- Create and update quality documentation, including Production Part Approval Processes, Failure Mode and Effects Analyses, Control Plans, and Work Instructions.
- Participate in new product launches using Advanced Product Quality Planning to ensure execution and compliance.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Hands-on experience with Measurement System Analysis and Statistical Process Control.
