About the company

Hope House provides substance use treatment services in upstate New York. How it works: the organization offers a continuum of care with structured treatment, therapy, and housing options to support recovery, staffed by professionals such as CASACs, LMSWs, LMHCs, RNs, and other clinicians. How it differs from competitors: it has a long history (founded in 1967) and operates a broad continuum of services—residential, outpatient, prevention, and housing—tailored to diverse populations, including women with children and youth. What believers are saying

  • August 21, 2026 expansion enables simultaneous forensic interviews and faster case processing.
  • Partnerships with Chevron, Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust, and IJN Foundation deepen fundraising.
  • Local expansion and community ties strengthen hiring, retention, and mission-driven employee appeal.

What critics are saying

  • Hope House depends on donor funding; 2026 expansions listed many foundations, businesses, and families.
  • Demand is rising faster than capacity; the 2026 expansion opened because services were overbooked.
  • A funding shortfall or major abuse-suit scandal would directly damage trust and referrals.

What makes Hope House unique

  • August 20, 2026 Brooke’s Place added forensic suites and therapy rooms in Covington.
  • Hope House served 643 children and delivered 3,060 free counseling sessions in 2025.
  • The 30-year-old nonprofit integrates victim advocacy, prevention training, and forensic interviewing locally.
