- A high school diploma, equivalent education such as a GED, post-secondary education, or one year of work experience.
- One year of experience as a Support Technician or in another healthcare-related position.
- American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Clean and service rooms, remove waste, and perform special projects as assigned.
- Inventory and restock supplies on the unit and obtain supplies and rental units.
- Provide support to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and caregivers by performing simple patient-care activities.
- Perform tasks and duties that provide assistance and support in the expanded Support Technician role to staff in Surgical Services.
- Visual color acuity, depending on the role in specific units.
