Requirements
  • A high school diploma plus 8 years of experience in all phases of munitions response actions or range clearance activities, as appropriate for the contracted operation, including transportation, handling, and storage of munitions and commercial explosives.
  • Graduation from a formal unexploded ordnance training course of instruction or Explosive Ordnance Disposal assistant courses, or graduation from a military Explosive Ordnance Disposal school in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia.
  • The ability to identify when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.
  • The ability to perform physical activities involving considerable use of the arms and legs and movement of the whole body, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • The ability to identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • The ability to operate detection and geophysical sensing equipment to locate unexploded ordnance and to transport non-hazardous materials using various equipment and vehicles.
  • The ability to give full attention to others, understand the points being made, and ask appropriate questions.
  • The ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Munitions of Explosive Concern-specific sections of the Quality Control Program Plan for all explosive-related operations.
  • Conduct and document quality-control audits of all explosive operations for compliance with established procedures.
  • Identify, document, and report corrective actions and ensure their completion so that all explosive operations comply with requirements.
  • Perform the responsibilities of UXO Sweep Personnel and UXO Technicians I, II, and III.
