Bloomberg promotes internally for EMEA buy-side fixed income electronic trading sales head. Individual steps into role after 12 years in several sales-based positions at the firm; has previously worked at MUFG and JP Morgan. Caroline Francillette has stepped up as EMEA head of buy-side fixed income electronic trading sales at Bloomberg, marking an extension of her ongoing 12-year tenure at the firm. London-based Francillette initially joined Bloomberg in 2014, and during her time at the firm has worked across various sales-related roles, most recently as a regional sales manager for France, BeLux, Geneva and Monaco. Prior to this, she spent more than three years at Japanese bank MUFG, where she worked in a position covering credit sales. Earlier in her career, Francillette spent four years at JP Morgan. Bloomberg had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication. Most recently, Bloomberg named Arif Merali as the firm's new global head of rates electronic trading. The appointment followed a five-year stint at the Bank of England, where Merali served as a senior advisor, providing technical advice and policy support to the bank's executive director of markets, as well as the wider markets directorate. She has been with The Wall Street Journal as a news editor since 2021 working on health and science coverage. Beltran previously was associate editor at Crain's New York Business, where she assisted in the planning, assigning, and editing of daily stories for the website and newsletters. She also drives digital initiatives and oversees all aspects of web production. Prior to joining Crain's, Lizeth covered breaking news and politics on the video desk at The Daily Beast. She also worked at NBC News, where she assisted in the production of short documentaries and helped launch new verticals. Beltran holds a master's degree from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in business and economics reporting, with a specialization in video journalism.

Xiao has been a senior reporter at Risk.net covering financial regulation and bank risk management since April 2023. Xiao holds a B.A. in Economics from Mount Holyoke College and a M.S. in journalism from Northwestern University.

Conor Sen, a Bloomberg Opinion columnist for the past 10 years, has left and started "Housing Frame," a Substack where he'll be analyzing the economy through a housing lens. "This journey around the country, formative experience with the mortgage market during its crisis, and years of writing about housing and the economy for Bloomberg Opinion have now led me to launch the Housing Frame," he wrote on his Substack. "Housing is people, it's places, it's feelings, it's data, and it's numbers in a spreadsheet - everything matters." Sen is also the founder and CEO of Peachtree Creek Investments. He is a graduate of Harvey Mudd College.
