Requirements
  • At least two years of experience in consumer lending or directly related experience.
  • A minimum high school diploma/GED or more than two years of related experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and comfort with information technology, particularly digital communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in assessing creditworthiness and understanding credit scoring systems.
  • Ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer loan products, regulations, and market trends.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state lending regulations, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Lending, and Truth in Lending Act.
  • Current registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System or ability to become registered upon employment.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 5 pounds when required.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate loan applications and documentation by confirming applicants' creditworthiness.
  • Inform applicants of additional requirements needed to improve loan applications and documentation.
  • Complete loan contracts by explaining provisions, obtaining signatures and notarizations, and collecting fees.
  • Answer members' questions and respond to their requests while maintaining confidentiality of loan information.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Manage the loan process from application through disbursement and subsequent follow-up with members to assess their financial status.
  • Educate and advise members on financial planning, policies, and rates.
  • Prepare comprehensive memo notes for underwriter review to support loan decision-making.
  • Input information into the consumer loan operating system.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness and use credit reports to verify the accuracy of loan applications.
  • Verify and inspect offered collateral.
  • Calculate loan payments, determine loan-to-value ratios, and ascertain loan payoffs to other financial institutions.
  • Process and review loan applications initiated through an indirect third-party partner.
  • Evaluate and process Home Equity Lines of Credit applications in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Determine appropriate credit limits and terms for Home Equity Lines of Credit based on borrowers' financial status and home equity.
  • Provide applicants with guidance and information about Home Equity Lines of Credit, including interest rates, repayment terms, and the application process.
  • Work with underwriters and loan processors to ensure timely and accurate processing of Home Equity Lines of Credit applications.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
