Teya launches next-generation card machine that completes transactions in 1.7 seconds.

Teya launches next-generation card machine that completes transactions in 1.7 seconds. * Payments * 03.08.2026 09:17 am Teya, the financial services provider supporting local businesses across Europe, today launches a new payments card machine that completes the majority of sales in 1.7 seconds - then instantly transfers money to sellers' accounts. The distinctive new lime-green Teya Pro device is being debuted in the UK as the latest in Teya's new suite of products designed to take payments faster, serve customers quicker and make sure businesses get their money sooner. Once the Teya Pro completes a sale in less time than it takes to sip a pint or thank a customer, Teya's Instant Settlement service means money is ready to spend in sellers' Teya Business Accounts moments later. At The Bat and Ball Country Pub & Haywards Restaurant in Wisborough Green, a local family-owned business, Richard Hayward delivers over 5,000 covers a month - and even more in mid-summer. "Fast payments mean fast service and more sales," says Richard. "When the pub and restaurant are packed, we just can't afford irritating delays while a sale is slowly processed. Everything has to work immediately. The Teya Pro has made a real difference, with happier customers and higher takings. And we see the cash turn up in our Teya Business Account straight away. That's exactly what a business like ours needs." Rebuilt entirely around the needs of the local businesses, these new products and service guarantees offer merchants everything they need to get paid more quickly: * The new Teya Pro card machine. With a 14+ hour battery that trades right through the busiest day, 6.7-inch tap-anywhere screen so the queue keeps moving, and three ways to connect - 4G, Wi-Fi and Ethernet - so a dropped signal never costs a sale. Built on a quad-core 2GHz Qualcomm chipset with 4GB memory and Android 13, it runs the till and payments side by side without lag, with the majority of payments completed in 1.7 secs. * Streamlined onboarding - getting merchants underway in minutes, not days. A digital-first registration process takes merchants from application to approval and taking payments faster than ever, with full transparency at every step. * The new card machines are underpinned by Teya's Instant Settlement offer, ensuring money arrives in merchants' Teya Business Accounts in seconds - or next-day everyday settlement that pays out daily, weekends included. For a business taking tens of thousands on a Saturday, that means immediate access to vital cash flow. * Because local businesses also need instant service, Teya has a support team on hand committed to picking up the phone in under 10 seconds if merchants need to get in touch. Alessandra Giner, Chief Product Officer at Teya, added: "Local businesses deserve better. Too many business-owners have had to become accustomed to hidden fees, being left on hold or otherwise being treated as an afterthought. Today, Teya changes that. We've designed our new suite of products for business, non-stop - making sure they get the faster payments, instant settlement, hassle-free onboarding and unparalleled customer support they deserve." Teya Pro represents the latest innovation in Teya's new suite of products. It follows the launch of the rebuilt Teya Business Account, a major upgrade allowing business-owners to automate spend management, earn cashback on all their team members' day-to-day spending and manage everything through one app.

Teya selects YouLend to expand financing offers for merchants across UK and Europe

Teya selects YouLend to expand financing offers for merchants across UK and Europe. YouLend, the leading global embedded financing platform, has partnered with Teya, the financial services provider supporting local businesses across Europe, to expand its credit offering and simplify access to flexible funding for Teya's growing community of more than 30,000 members in the UK, ahead of further launches into Teya's other European markets in 2026. The partnership introduces Teya Cash Advance, powered by YouLend, a simple funding solution that makes it easy for merchants to apply for, accept, and renew funding. Through this partnership, Teya will offer a streamlined capital solution to more merchants. Eligible merchants can access between £1,000 and £2 million directly through the Teya app or portal, with pre-approved offers generated from anonymised payment data. The seamless application and approval process enables merchants to receive funding in as little as 24 hours. Repayments are automatically linked to each merchant's card machine sales, so businesses only repay when they earn. This helps merchants manage cash flow more easily and grow at their own pace. Teya selected YouLend for its scalable, multi-market funding platform and its proven track record of supporting over 370,000 businesses globally with a repeat financing rate exceeding 85%. "Teya was looking for a partner that truly understands the needs of their merchants and sales partners," said Dan Sinclair-Taylor, country head UK and ROI at YouLend. "Our platform helps them reach more eligible merchants, bolster conversion, and deliver a funding experience that feels as intuitive as the rest of Teya's platform." "Everything we do at Teya is to help make the financial lives of small and local businesses easier so they can focus on serving their communities," said Sahithya Vemana, head of banking at Teya. "That's why we partnered with YouLend. By offering merchants a flexible funding solution that is fair, transparent, and includes features built for their needs, like repayments linked directly to card machine sales, they no longer have to worry about access to finance and can instead focus on what they do best." The partnership has launched in the UK and will expand across Europe in the coming months. Together, YouLend and Teya are working to close the funding gap for small and local businesses and extend funding to as many eligible merchants as possible.
