Requirements
  • An Associate’s Degree or equivalent is required.
  • Two years of work experience are required in the stated minimum-training requirements.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school or training program, a 24-month approved School of Radiologic Technology, or other approved training such as military training is required.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
  • One year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist and CT is required under the licensure and certification requirements.
  • Certification in the second modality area after radiology certification is required, with one year allowed to obtain the second modality.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross CPR/AED program or recognized equivalent.
  • The position requires the physical ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work indoors and from elevated areas, work in confined spaces, kneel, bend, squat, perform repetitive hand and upper-extremity motions, reach in all directions, and use both legs and arms fully.
  • The position requires finger dexterity, corrected 20/40 vision, near and distance object recognition, color discrimination, depth perception where applicable, hearing acuity with correction, gross and fine motor function, tactile sensory function, and physical qualification for respirator use where applicable.
  • The position requires the ability to lift and carry 15 pounds unassisted and perform the specified 15-pound lifting and lowering tasks.
  • The position requires the ability to work in a latex-safe environment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality radiology and CT/X-ray examinations according to established protocols for patient populations from neonates through geriatrics.
  • Operate radiology and CT imaging equipment while following radiation safety guidelines, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide radiographic support for all areas of the hospital as needed.
  • Position patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required.
  • Avoid excessive repeat examinations by following established guidelines.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
