Requirements
  • At least five consecutive years of employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer for email communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, as well as Adobe Acrobat and related tools and technology.
  • Past or current inspection certifications meeting site requirements under Manual 1Q-Procedure 2-5 as a Level II Inspector in the electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation and controls disciplines.
  • Qualification or certification in Division Specific Limited Certification Areas as defined in the Quality Assurance Inspector Training and Qualification Program Description.
  • United States citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as Employment Authorization, from the designated United States Government security office.
  • Ability to submit to and qualify for background investigations up to a Top Secret or Department of Energy Q clearance.
  • Ability to pass a visual examination as required.
  • Completion and maintenance of required radiological training.
  • Ability to work in a radiological environment while using protective clothing and respiratory equipment.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, lift, walk or stand for extended periods, and work 12 hours within a 24-hour period.
  • Ability to work rotating 12.2-hour shifts when required and work approved overtime as directed.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, perform, and document independent inspections in accordance with documented procedures, acceptance criteria, industry practices, and implementing documents.
  • Perform verification of corrective actions.
  • Plan and perform independent inspections to determine compliance of processes, activities, structures, systems, and components with specified acceptance criteria.
  • Use appropriate procedures, codes, specifications, standards, drawings, inspection tools and techniques, components, activities, and inspection planning and reporting methods.
  • Achieve and maintain Division-specific qualifications.
  • Complete inspection records, logs, work orders, and other related documentation.
  • Use inspection techniques, inspection tools and equipment, measurement standards, measuring and test equipment, and related instrumentation.
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and familiarization with independent inspection and basic inspection concepts to inspectors, supervisors, mechanics, operators, engineers, and inspection customers.
  • Perform measurements and verify measuring and test equipment output.
  • Read and interpret procedures to verify essential or specified inspection criteria.
  • Interpret engineering and design drawings and sketches for inspection activities.
  • Perform mathematical calculations to determine correct values or make conversions.
  • Perform inspection planning activities to verify quality and conformance with specified acceptance criteria.
  • Perform pre-work and post-work document reviews in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform surveillance, in-process monitoring, and assessment activities as required.
  • Provide inspection guidance to lower-grade Quality Inspectors.
  • Verify corrective actions to ensure tasks have been fully and correctly implemented.
  • Provide proficiency evaluations on the inspection activities of other Quality Inspectors.
  • Support shift activities, overtime, and other duties assigned by management.
  • Establish, manage, pursue, and fulfill annual goals and objectives and support business development and other company efforts.
