Requirements
  • Experience with end-to-end model development.
  • Experience coding with Python, R, or C++.
  • Knowledge of Treasury Risk, including Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, liquidity modelling, hedge accounting, ICAAP Value at Risk modelling, PRA110 liquidity reporting, and model implementation.
  • Hands-on experience in market risk modelling or development of pricing models is considered relevant.
  • Hands-on experience in model development, model validation, or model implementation, with core development experience preferred.
  • Experience in Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, Recovery and Resolution Planning, Treasury Working Group or securities unwinding, hedge accounting, liquidity modelling, foreign exchange rate risk, ICAAP Value at Risk modelling, balance-sheet modelling, and cash-flow forecasting.
  • Knowledge of risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital technology, and job-specific technical skills.
Responsibilities
  • Design analytics and modelling solutions to complex business problems using domain expertise.
  • Collaborate with technology to specify dependencies required for analytical solutions, including data, development environments, and tools.
  • Develop high-performing, comprehensively documented analytics and modelling solutions and demonstrate their efficacy to business users and independent validation teams.
  • Implement analytics and models in accurate, stable, well-tested software and work with technology to operationalise them.
  • Provide ongoing support for the continued effectiveness of analytics and modelling solutions for users.
  • Conform to Barclays Enterprise Risk Management Policies, particularly the Model Risk Policy.
  • Undertake all development activities within the defined control environment.
  • Develop best-in-class treasury and liquidity models using model development frameworks and methodologies.
  • Work in a global quantitative team and with regulators across the world.
  • Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies and processes; deliver continuous improvements; and escalate policy or procedure breaches.
  • Advise key stakeholders, functional leadership teams, and senior management on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls related to the team's work.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work and business-aligned support areas to stay current with business activity and strategies.
  • Create solutions through sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
  • Apply extensive research outcomes to problem-solving processes.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish business objectives using influencing and negotiating skills.

Supermarket Income REIT secures $565M debt refinancing to cut costs and extend maturity

Supermarket Income REIT has secured a £445 million debt refinancing to lower borrowing costs and extend average debt maturity. The new facilities comprise a £375 million syndicate and £70 million bilateral arrangement, replacing all existing unsecured loan facilities maturing over the next two years. The refinancing includes four facilities ranging from three to five years, all with two one-year extension options. The average margin across facilities is 1.18% above the Sterling Overnight Index Average, delivering annual interest cost savings of approximately £300,000. The REIT has added Lloyds Bank and ABN AMRO as new banking partners whilst retaining relationships with Barclays, HSBC UK, ING and The Royal Bank of Scotland. The refinancing increases the group's weighted average debt maturity from 2.9 years to 3.8 years.
