Requirements
  • Current Washington State license or certification authorizing barbering instruction.
  • Barbering and instructional experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete the required 40-hour pre-service training.
  • Ability to work professionally with incarcerated adults.
Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on vocational training to up to eight students in a secure correctional facility.
  • Deliver a state-approved curriculum covering barbering techniques, sanitation, safety, workplace skills, and preparation for professional licensing.
  • Prepare lesson plans.
  • Track student progress and attendance.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Follow all facility security procedures.
