Requirements
  • - In process of obtaining a degree (BS, MS, or PhD) in a related engineering discipline
  • - Must live in the US at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
  • - Must be either a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in college
  • - Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, transcripts are required
  • - Must be an enrolled student at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
  • - Must be able to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks (full-time for 3 months)
Responsibilities
  • - Help author and revise material and process specifications to support Gen 6 aircraft production
  • - Write test reports summarizing test data and findings from various M&P test programs
  • - Perform mechanical strength testing on test coupons using Instron mechanical test machines
  • - Perform thermal analysis testing to determine glass transition temperature and degree of cure for various materials
  • - Perform cross-sectional image analysis to determine void content of composite parts
  • - Perform layup and curing of composite prepreg laminates
  • - Perform bonding for bonded joint test coupons
  • - Gain exposure to production environment and help provide analysis used to disposition non-conformances
