Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience is required.
  • Experience providing server and desktop support in Microsoft and Unix environments is required.
  • Development experience in C and C++ on Unix systems, including Linux or BSD, or embedded operating systems is required.
  • Experience with networking systems, with recent emphasis on security and gateway appliances or software products, is required.
  • Experience with Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows SBS, Unix servers, Microsoft Exchange 5.5, Microsoft Exchange 2000, Microsoft Exchange 2003, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Linux, and Microsoft Office 2000 or 2003 is required.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Administer systems on a day-to-day basis, including disaster recovery, network design, and project management.
  • Provide application support, integration, network administration, desktop troubleshooting, hardware and software procurement and installation, and asset and license management.
  • Author functional specifications or work with other engineers to provide guidance in creating functional specifications.
  • Participate in and lead brainstorming discussions to arrive at optimal designs.
  • Work with architects and leads in other functional areas of the engineering team to coordinate complete system design and influence design decisions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Cisco routers and firewalls is preferred.
