About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of project, program, or product management experience on software products, including at least 2 years working on technical products such as APIs, developer platforms, or machine-learning models.
  • A track record of shipping on schedule, including running release processes and launch checklists, making go/no-go calls, and being able to identify releases for which the candidate was responsible.
  • Technical fluency with Python, REST and streaming APIs, GitHub, and issue trackers, including the ability to reproduce bugs, read logs, and analyze evaluation results using SQL, a spreadsheet, or a notebook.
  • Experience turning customer conversations and usage data into prioritized requirements, with the judgment to decline requests when appropriate.
  • Ability to write clear, concise specifications, release notes, and status updates.
  • Ability to use agentic AI efficiently in work.
  • Ability to work on a hybrid schedule from the Santa Clara HQ or Toronto office.

Responsibilities

  • Own Higgs Audio releases from planning through launch, set the release schedule, run go/no-go reviews, and ensure each release includes documentation, release notes, an updated model card, and a changelog entry.
  • Coordinate release channels, including the API and Boson Workspace, open weights on Hugging Face, GitHub repositories, and hosting partners such as Microsoft Foundry and Deep Infra, keeping versions aligned across channels.
  • Run quality control with research and engineering by defining release standards covering error rates across more than 100 languages, voice-cloning similarity, expressiveness benchmarks such as EmergentTTS-Eval, listening tests, latency, and cost; enforce the standards and catch regressions before customers do.
  • Own the issue queue by triaging bug reports and feature requests from GitHub, customer support, partners, and internal teams; set severity and priority, assign owners, and close the loop with reporters.
  • Keep the schedule by breaking goals into milestones, tracking dependencies across research, engineering, and go-to-market, raising risks early, and making tradeoffs explicit.
  • Engage developers, enterprise customers, partners, and creators; run beta programs; review usage data and support tickets; and turn findings into clear team requirements and priorities.
  • Ensure model changes are integrated smoothly into products built on them, such as Higgs VoiceOver running on Higgs TTS 3.
  • Own versioning and deprecation, including version names, migration guides, and deprecation notices that give customers time to adapt before breaking changes.
  • Track release cadence, regressions reaching customers, time to resolve critical issues, adoption, and customer satisfaction, and send regular status updates for leadership.
  • Within the first six months, establish a predictable published release schedule with a documented quality bar for every release; ensure every open public-repository and customer issue has an owner and priority, with critical bugs fixed within an agreed time; publish model and API changes in a public changelog with advance notice of breaking changes; and provide regular customer reporting that informs the roadmap and schedules or ships top requests.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with speech or audio products such as text-to-speech, automatic speech recognition, voice cloning, voice agents, or audio for media production.
  • Experience releasing machine-learning models, including evaluation suites, human preference studies, model cards, and open-weight releases on Hugging Face.
  • Experience managing issues, pull requests, and releases for an open-source project on GitHub.
  • Experience with enterprise customers or cloud partners such as Microsoft Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.
  • Ability to identify and describe when generated speech sounds incorrect.
  • An engineering background, or a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Fluency in a language besides English.
