ShipBob adds Claude-integrated AI to in-house fulfillment tech suite.

ShipBob adds Claude-integrated AI to in-house fulfillment tech suite. Reading Time: 4 mins read Global supply chain and fulfillment platform ShipBob has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) suite to connect to merchants' live operations using either its agent, Bobby, or Anthropic's Claude. ShipBob said it has built its fulfillment technology stack internally. That stack can now "bring an end-to-end AI layer across its entire operations," the company said in its announcement. It includes ShipBob's model context protocol (MCP), which is what allows it to connect to merchants' operations. An MCP is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems. Additionally, ShipBob said it has built its technology stack since 2014 instead of buying it. As a result, "its AI is wired into real operations and can act on them directly," according to the company. ShipBob develops MCP for retailers to connect to its AI. ShipBob said its MCP anchors its AI suite for fulfillment technology. The MCP uses an Anthropic-verified connector in Claude or ShipBob's in-dashboard agent, Bobby, to give merchants access to the company's AI tools. "A new ShipBob AI Hub is where merchants learn about ShipBob AI, connect their own tools, and see every action AI takes on their account," the company said. "The same intelligence runs on the warehouse floor, where autonomous mobile robots take on the physical legwork and AI-powered cameras grade returns as they arrive. It is one operation, from the software a merchant works in to the machines on the floor, getting smarter at once." ShipBob said the companies "that win in an AI-native world" will be the ones with the strongest APIs, cleanest operational data and deepest action layer running underneath. "Every commerce platform has an AI story right now," said CEO Dhruv Saxena. "But a storefront can become AI-ready in a weekend, and a supply chain cannot, because a supply chain is not software alone. It is inventory, labor, warehouses, exceptions, and the trust riding on every order. We have been building the stack that lets AI actually operate a supply chain since 2014, so our AI story is not that we added AI to ShipBob. It is that ShipBob is becoming the action layer AI needs to run fulfillment." The company said AI without an action layer "is just a smarter dashboard." That's not enough in the fulfillment space, it added. It said real tests include whether AI can: * See an order and the inventory behind it. * Reship a package that is running late. * Upgrade a reship to a faster carrier. ShipBob said there is no "shortcut" when it comes to inventory, warehouses, labor and delivery promises. How merchants can use ShipBob's fulfillment AI. "I can't even remember the last time I was on a call where someone asked me to decide which orders to prioritize," said Mike McPhail, senior director of distribution at Vuori, in the announcement. "ShipBob's AI just fulfills what needs to come out first. It's made my life easier." Vuori is No. 558 in the Top 1000 Database. The market research tool tracks North America's largest online retailers, ranking them by annual ecommerce sales and more. Vuori is also No. 332 in Digital Commerce 360's all-new AI Rankings. That set of rankings is available in the Top 1000 Pro with AI Database. ShipBob said using its MCP, an AI assistant can: * Reorder a SKU. * Reroute a shipment. * Resolve an exception order. It said brands can run their operations from inside Claude and other AI tools they already use. Additionally, ShipBob said merchants are already making thousands of requests each day through the MCP. Some of those are simple operational questions surrounding an order or how many units of a product are left, it said. Others are action-oriented requests such as moving orders into processing or building inbound receiving orders, ShipBob added. "The hardest part of fulfillment is volatility, but we know volatility is often a great thing for a brand's revenue and growth," said Melissa Nick, chief supply chain officer at ShipBob. "A product goes viral, a promotion overperforms, peak arrives, and suddenly the plan no longer matches the day. Owning the software, the AI, and the robots changes the math. We can manage those swings across the whole network and down to a single site, customer, or SKU, and keep service steady when it matters most. The thinking and the doing finally move together."

ShipBob launches first Anthropic-verified fulfillment connector with end-to-end AI suite

ShipBob has launched an end-to-end AI suite integrated across its entire fulfilment stack, anchored by what it calls the first Anthropic-verified fulfilment connector. The Chicago-based supply chain platform introduced ShipBob AI, which operates through an open layer called MCP that connects AI tools to live merchant operations. The suite includes Bobby, an in-dashboard agent currently in beta, and a verified connector for Claude that offers read and write access to 70-plus actions across merchant operations. ShipBob is also deploying autonomous mobile robots across its warehouse network and developing AI-powered cameras to inspect returned items. The company has built its technology internally since 2014 rather than acquiring third-party solutions. ShipBob's MCP already handles thousands of merchant requests daily, from tracking orders to bulk-updating stuck shipments. Bobby will be generally available in autumn 2026.

ShipBob launches AI-powered delivery date engine and branded tracking to cut support costs by up to 50%

ShipBob has launched its largest seasonal product release, headlined by ShipBob Promise, a delivery date engine trained on hundreds of millions of shipments across its global network. The system uses real-time fulfillment centre data and dynamically prioritises orders to maintain accurate delivery promises, aiming to increase conversion rates whilst reducing support costs. The release also introduces TrackBob, a branded tracking experience extending visibility from warehouse to doorstep across all carriers. The platform addresses "Where is my order?" queries, which account for 30-40% of e-commerce support tickets at $5-22 per ticket. Additional features include AI-powered returns inspection, QR code return labels and restocking automation. ShipBob Promise enters beta in May 2026 for US shipments, with global expansion planned. The company has fulfilled over one billion units across its network spanning the US, Canada, UK, EU and Australia.

ARC smart locker tech boosts ShipBob productivity 40%, cuts device shrink by 63%

ARC, a division of ChargeItSpot, is deploying its smart locker technology across all ShipBob fulfilment centres following a pilot programme that delivered a 40% increase in associate productivity. The pilot at ShipBob's North Aurora, Illinois facility reduced device shrinkage by 63%, cut device pick-up and return times by 84%, and decreased manager time spent tracking devices by 97%. ShipBob, a global supply chain and fulfilment platform, deployed ARC's system to manage thousands of handheld devices used by warehouse associates. The smart locker solution combines charging lockers with proprietary device management software to ensure devices remain charged, secure and accessible. The technology addresses operational challenges including missing devices, battery depletion and manual oversight requirements that previously resulted in lost time and reduced output across fulfilment operations.
