Requirements
- An active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with full-scope polygraph is required.
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Science is required.
- At least 2 years of experience using Spring or Spring Boot frameworks is required.
- At least 7 years of experience writing Java is required.
- Experience mapping objects to relational database management system platforms with Hibernate or other object-relational mapping tools is required.
- Experience working with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL databases is required.
- Strong knowledge of the Model-View-Controller design pattern is required.
- Strong knowledge of Maven or Gradle automation tools is required.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services is required.
- Familiarity with representational state transfer design principles is required.
- The ability to create self-contained, reusable, and testable code is required.
- Experience using JavaDocs or other inline code documentation conventions is required.
- Extensive experience with Git source code management is required.
- The ability to break large tasks into smaller, manageable pieces is required.
- Experience working in Agile, Scaled Agile Framework, and Scrum environments is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop Java application programming interfaces using Spring Boot.
- Integrate Spring Boot applications with external third-party application programming interfaces.
- Work with the database team to map models to PostgreSQL tables.
- Work with the infrastructure team to deploy the codebase to web servers.
- Advocate for development practices that improve craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability.
- Demonstrate new features and functionality to the customer.
- Write and execute unit tests on new and existing Java code.
- Provide documentation and assist program management with backend-functionality and user-workflow deliverables.
- Assist the team in creating user stories and features for existing and upcoming work.
- Support the frontend team during integration with backend representational state transfer application programming interface calls.
- Analyze business usage improvements, scalability, and performance; identify and recommend solutions, integration points, and implementation architecture.
- Provide guidance to less experienced developers and administrators through code reviews, solution design, and recommended training and development plans.
Desired Qualifications
- Testing experience using JUnit and other testing tools such as Selenium.
- Experience deploying database schema versions using Flyway or Liquibase.
- Frontend experience with Angular, React, or Vue.js frameworks.
- Experience working in both commercial and C2S Amazon Web Services environments.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services Cognito, OAuth 2.0, or OpenID Connect.
- Familiarity with test-driven development or behavior-driven development processes.
- Experience building infrastructure for serving frontend applications and assets.
- Experience architecting and automating production build processes using task runners or scripts.
- Experience working with Bootstrap and Material Design patterns and principles.
- A good understanding of Public Key Infrastructure and familiarity with OpenSSL.
- Experience configuring and implementing multifactor authentication solutions for applications.
- In-depth knowledge of validation through government information assurance and cybersecurity standards and practices using formal verification methods.
