French Teacher
About the job
- A minimum of 6 months of teaching experience with children, teens, and/or adults in the same institution.
- A degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language, such as a Master FLE, DAEFLE, or equivalent, or a degree in Elementary Education.
- The ability to create dynamic and communicative learning environments.
- Classroom management, adaptability, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with digital teaching tools and technology-assisted learning.
- Native-level fluency in French and a minimum B1 level in English according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- Valid U.S. work authorization.
- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered French lessons tailored to learners’ age and proficiency levels.
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters communication, curiosity, and confidence in French.
- Incorporate technology and authentic cultural materials into lessons to promote interactive and immersive learning.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to learners and/or parents.
- Collaborate with the Language Center team and participate in training sessions, pedagogical meetings, and events.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grading records, following internal procedures.
- Serve as an ambassador of francophone cultures and L’Alliance New York’s educational mission.
