Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Hold a current, valid Registered Nurse license to practice in New York State.
Responsibilities
  • Initiate the nursing process using the nursing assessment tool and ongoing assessment by planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care based on clinical knowledge, patients’ needs, and collected data.
  • Develop and update treatment plans addressing nursing diagnoses, and review them with the multidisciplinary team to provide input on diagnosis, length of stay, and readiness for the next level of care.
  • Implement detoxification procedures when indicated and provide appropriate care according to the withdrawal scale and physician’s orders.
  • Retrieve orders and administer medications as prescribed, following procedures and policies; maintain updated knowledge of withdrawal medications and modalities used in addiction treatment.
  • Record and report information that may affect patient treatment or continuing care to appropriate care providers, and complete medical discharge forms.
Desired Qualifications
  • Substance abuse treatment experience.
