About the Job

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of liquid-cooling technologies used in data center systems, including cold plates, manifolded liquid loops, coolant distribution concepts, and thermal interfaces.
  • Familiarity with the thermal challenges of near-packaged and co-packaged optics, including proximity to hot application-specific integrated circuits, optical temperature sensitivity, thermal isolation, and serviceability constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the thermal design of pluggable optics, near-packaged optics, and co-packaged optics for data center switching, compute, and interconnect equipment.
  • Support the development of air-cooled and liquid-cooled thermal solutions for high-power optical and optoelectronic assemblies, including heatsinks, thermal bridges, cold plates, coolant interfaces, and platform-level heat rejection paths.
  • Contribute to thermal analysis of interactions among application-specific integrated circuits, digital signal processors, optical engines, lasers, packages, and surrounding mechanical structures in dense data center deployments.
  • Collaborate with system architects and senior engineers to help define thermal requirements for data center equipment at rack, chassis, and module levels under air- and liquid-cooling conditions.
  • Apply working knowledge of liquid-cooling technologies used in data center systems, including cold plates, manifolded liquid loops, coolant distribution concepts, and thermal interfaces.
  • Assist in evaluating tradeoffs between air cooling and liquid cooling for power-dense electronics and optoelectronic assemblies.

About the Company

Lumilens

Photonic interconnects for AI infrastructure

Lumilens designs and manufactures optical interconnect products to accelerate AI infrastructure. It provides high-density photonic interconnects—such as high-density pluggable, near-packaged, and co-packaged optics—built with in-house silicon photonics to scale GPU clusters in AI data centers. Its products include 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers for AI networking, and it is pursuing broader integration like Electrical-Optical Interposers through a strategic partnership with POET Technologies. The company differentiates itself through vertical integration, custom robotics-driven manufacturing, and AI-optimized production processes that aim to improve yield and supply chain stability. Lumilens targets hyperscalers and large AI providers, seeking to move interconnect bottlenecks from compute to scalable, efficient data-center networks. Its goal is to enable faster, denser GPU connectivity to support growing AI workloads and models.
