Requirements
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and Verilog and familiarity with system-on-chip integration methodologies.
  • Experience with the RTL-to-GDS flow, including synthesis, static timing analysis, and design sign-off considerations.
  • Familiarity with electronic design automation tools from Cadence, Synopsys, and/or Siemens.
  • Programming or scripting experience with Python, Tcl, Perl, or shell scripting.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze hardware and software interaction at the system level to identify bottlenecks in existing artificial intelligence/machine learning workloads and high-bandwidth memory-based hardware.
  • Drive future high-bandwidth memory architecture, design, and technology to address bottlenecks, including implementing proof-of-concept designs.
  • Architect, design, and implement register-transfer level for system-on-chip-level blocks and subsystems used in high-bandwidth memory logic die.
  • Architect and design memory subsystems, including memory intellectual property selection and integration, bus and protocol selection, and power, performance, and area optimization.
  • Integrate internal and third-party intellectual property, including controllers, microcontrollers, network-on-chip, reliability, availability, and serviceability, memory built-in self-test, interfaces, adapters, buffers, and physical-layer-adjacent logic.
  • Translate architectural and micro-architectural specifications into high-quality register-transfer level implementations.
  • Participate in system-on-chip-level integration activities, including clocking, reset, power intent, and configuration infrastructure.
  • Assist with pre-silicon validation and post-silicon bring-up, including root-cause analysis of silicon issues.
  • Contribute to design documentation, block specifications, and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, and Manufacturing to ensure robust and manufacturable builds.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with high-bandwidth memory, dynamic random-access memory, or memory-centric system-on-chip designs.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces, clocking strategies, reset architectures, and power-management concepts.
  • Exposure to design-for-test concepts, including scan, memory built-in self-test, built-in redundancy analysis, built-in self-repair, and debug.
  • Experience with hardware emulation or acceleration platforms such as Palladium, Veloce, or Zebu.

Micron beats estimates for eighth quarter straight, says memory shortage has no end in sight

Micron Technology reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23 billion, beating the $50.97 billion consensus estimate. The company guided fiscal Q1 2027 revenue to $61.5 billion, well above Wall Street's $57 billion expectation. Chief executive Sanjay Mehrotra said the company has "no line of sight to when supply and demand will return to balance." He noted that more than 75% of Micron's 2027 output is already committed, with high-bandwidth memory largely sold out. Adjusted earnings per share reached $33.42, surpassing estimates of $31.35 for the eighth consecutive quarter. Gross margin hit 87%, above the company's prior forecast of roughly 86%. Mehrotra said memory conditions will remain "much tighter in fiscal 2027 and 2028", with HBM prices significantly higher than 2026 levels.

However, Micron shares dropped after hours following the announcement of increased capital expenditures for fiscal 2027. The company plans to boost spending on cleanroom construction to accelerate capacity expansion, with capex expected to reach around $25 billion in the first half of fiscal 2027.

Micron's performance has been driven by surging demand for memory chips used in AI applications. Data centres require substantial amounts of DRAM and flash storage for AI processors, both of which Micron produces. The company's shares have risen approximately 275% year to date and 550% over the past 12 months.

Boeing wins $20B+ Navy fighter contract, Moderna drops in premarket

Micron could surge 271% by 2031 as AI drives insatiable demand for high-performance memory

Micron Technology is investing heavily in artificial intelligence memory production as demand for high-bandwidth memory surges. In its fiscal 2026 third quarter ended May 28, the company reported $41.5 billion in revenue, up from $9.3 billion a year earlier. The chip maker announced plans to invest more than $250 billion in US manufacturing through 2035, including new facilities in New York and Idaho. Its first Idaho factory is expected to begin producing wafers in mid-2027. Micron also launched a $10 billion research initiative and a $250 million venture fund focused on emerging technologies.
