- Licensed Indiana pharmacy technician.
- Nationally certified from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent strongly preferred but not required.
- If licensure needs to be obtained, applicant will commit to obtaining the required licensure within a mutually agreed upon timeframe. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements.
- 0-1 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or related experience.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree or PTCB/ExCPT License is strongly preferred.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for communication, documentation, and data management; data entry and computer skills will be evaluated through an assessment.
- Communicate with patient over the phone and provide them the compelling reason why the Shields Partner Pharmacy program is superior to any other comprehensive pharmacy care model.
- Access the patient's Electronic Medical Record and review chart notes prior to outbound call to ensure familiarity with the patient's condition and situation.
- Identify medications requiring special storage and/or handling such as hazardous medications and/or refrigerated medications.
- Identify supplies necessary for select medications such as sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs and band-aids.
- Ability to be flexible on shift times: typical shift times are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with occasional Saturday 11:00 AM–4:00 PM flexibility.
- Opportunity to become nationally certified PTCB or ExCPT within 6 months of hire via Shields classes (included as part of employee training).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
