  • A licensed Certified Public Accountant credential is required.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise, direct, and review delegated work throughout the planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up stages of audit client engagements.
  • Market, network, and develop business within an area of expertise.
  • Ensure engagement profitability, including billings and collections.
  • Advise clients on economic and regulatory risks within their industries.
  • Resolve complex accounting issues and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards in complex situations.
  • Write technical consultation memoranda on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards issues.
  • Document, validate, test, and assess financial reporting control systems.
  • Apply knowledge of control environments, organizational objectives, policies, procedures, and supervisory controls.
  • Validate and assess the effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting.
  • Identify and communicate suggestions to management and audit committees for improving client internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Identify and delegate audit functions to the auditor in charge.
  • Supervise the audit team and review workpapers and conclusions during audit fieldwork.
  • Provide on-the-job training to engagement staff during audit fieldwork.
  • Apply governing accounting principles to client transactions and document and communicate their application.
  • Identify and consult with clients on the impact of new accounting pronouncements.
  • Monitor and communicate important professional and industry pronouncements.
  • Present and discuss alternative Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and arguments for and against those alternatives.
  • Draft complex financial statements and related footnote disclosures and communicate them to clients.
  • Identify complex accounting issues and document their resolution, consulting technical experts as needed.
  • Apply professional standards and practices, including Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards when applicable.
  • Provide guidance to others and affirm conclusions made by others.
  • Communicate matters required to be reported to the audit committee, board, and those charged with governance.
  • Apply efficiency tools such as statistical sampling and computer-assisted audit techniques.
  • Conduct detailed reviews to ensure audits comply with assurance manual standards.
  • Prepare or review required communications to management and audit committees, ensuring timeliness and completeness.
  • Recommend appropriate outcomes for critical issues.
  • Initiate and prepare client acceptance and retention procedures when appropriate.
  • Plan the audit process and oversee execution of procedures with quality, efficiency, and completeness.
  • Execute the firm's methodology, including proper archiving procedures.
  • Conduct research using authoritative sources and draw conclusions regarding target issues.
  • Define research methodologies and complete research projects in a timely manner.
  • Apply research tools and draw conclusions based on appropriate research.
  • Prepare memoranda supporting research and conclusions and consult with others when appropriate.
  • Present issues to the partner-in-charge or concurring reviewer accurately and effectively.
  • Organize and conduct internal continuing professional education training sessions in areas of specialization when required.
  • Plan and review audit procedures, including budgeting and staffing.
  • Monitor engagement time incurred against the budget with assistance from the Senior.
  • Manage timely billing, out-of-scope activity, and client communication.
  • Manage timely accounts-receivable collection.
  • Manage client relationships and expectations in accordance with project requirements.
  • Provide timely advice to clients.
  • Supervise Associates, Senior Associates, and Supervisors on all projects.
  • Review work prepared by Associates, Senior Associates, and Supervisors and provide review comments.
  • Act as a career advisor to Associates, Senior Associates, and Supervisors.
  • Schedule and manage the workload of Associates, Senior Associates, and Supervisors.
  • Provide verbal and written performance feedback to Associates, Senior Associates, and Supervisors.
  • Teach and coach Supervisors, Seniors, and Associates through on-the-job learning.
