Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
- Five years of previous healthcare experience are required.
- A current Colorado driver's license is required.
- A valid state Registered Nurse license is required.
- Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be attained and maintained.
- Completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support and/or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course and Trauma Nursing Core Course is required.
- Knowledge of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services regulations in relation to Critical Access Hospitals and long-term care facilities is required.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous responsibilities and prioritize work scheduling is required.
- Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner is required.
- Ability to operate general office equipment, computer software applications, email, and surveillance equipment or cameras is required.
- Verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of personnel management, conflict management, behavior modification methodology, and performance-management documentation is required.
- Ability to handle difficult situations involving staff, patients, family members, physicians, or others professionally is required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees, and administration is required.
- Annual influenza and COVID-19 vaccination and any job-specific immunizations are required.
- Tuberculosis screening is required.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing departments and patient care during the assigned shift.
- Provide indirect supervision for ancillary support departments during the assigned shift.
- Coordinate and maintain the expected level of patient-care quality.
- Serve as the authority responsible for the assigned shift.
- Ensure staffing schedules are appropriate for patient care.
- Ensure direct patient care is appropriate.
- Make related decisions in completing assigned tasks.
Desired Qualifications
- One year of long-term care work experience is preferred.
- Previous work experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
