Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, applied artificial intelligence, machine learning systems, or a related field, with strong zero-to-one technical judgment.
  • Experience at a frontier artificial intelligence laboratory, leading artificial intelligence company, or comparable team working at the edge of current model capabilities.
  • A track record of shipping production agentic systems that real users depend on, rather than only prompts, prototypes, or demos.
  • Deep experience with frontier model application programming interfaces, tool use, orchestration, context engineering, retrieval, memory, and multi-step workflows.
  • Experience building evaluations, regression tests, observability, and production failure-analysis loops for artificial intelligence systems.
  • Exceptional fluency with artificial intelligence-native development workflows using Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, agent software development kits, or equivalent systems, with a rigorous understanding of where agents work and fail.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to turn an ambiguous decision or workflow into a useful, secure, measurable system.
  • Availability for five days per week of in-office collaboration with the team.
Responsibilities
  • Build vertical agents and own end-to-end agents for high-value workflows across research, software, hardware, data, and operations, from problem definition through production use.
  • Establish the agent foundation by building reusable primitives for models, tools, orchestration, context, memory, retrieval, permissions, human approval, and long-running execution.
  • Create the context layer by connecting agents to trusted data through application programming interfaces, pipelines, Model Context Protocol servers, and integrations with clear provenance and access control.
  • Own evaluation and reliability by building benchmarks, regression tests, tracing, monitoring, and failure-analysis loops across quality, latency, cost, security, and resilience.
  • Advance frontier agent usage by evaluating new models, coding agents, software development kits, and patterns, then turning useful capabilities into maintainable systems rather than demos.
  • Support strategic initiatives by helping company leadership apply agents and analytical systems to market and customer intelligence, partnerships, fundraising, diligence, scenario analysis, and executive decisions.
  • Provide technical leadership by setting architecture and engineering standards, reviewing designs and code, and creating reusable patterns for the technical team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with post-training, model evaluation, inference, or research infrastructure at a frontier laboratory or model company.
  • Experience with Model Context Protocol infrastructure, developer platforms, knowledge graphs, retrieval-augmented generation, or secure enterprise integrations.
  • Background in robotics, autonomous systems, industrial automation, or another technically complex physical-world domain.

Embedding VC is an early-stage venture fund that backs Generative AI startups. It provides seed to early-stage capital and operational guidance, leveraging a team of current and former builders and operators who can help portfolio companies grow. The fund’s approach centers on working closely with founders and using hands-on experience to scale AI projects, including those aiming toward AGI, during a period described as a new computing super cycle driven by AI innovations. Unlike funds that rely mainly on financial leverage, Embedding VC differentiates itself through its deep operator network, practical support, and focus on and commitment to building capable, scalable AI businesses. The overall goal is to support ambitious AI founders to advance the development and deployment of AI technologies and capture value in the expanding AI ecosystem.
