About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a highly quantitative field is required.
  • One to three years of experience in corporate accounting, financial planning and analysis, project accounting, or fixed asset management is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, fixed asset accounting rules, capital versus expense rules, and advanced general ledger structures is required.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including XLOOKUP, Index/Match, nested formulas, dynamic pivot tables, and financial modeling, is required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present data clearly to internal department leads and constructively challenge over-budget expenditures or project overruns are required.
Responsibilities
  • Track capital expenditures against fiber project budgets, maintain work-in-progress accounting controls, and manage assets through multi-entity allocation and depreciation.
  • Prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance analyses for department heads.
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison for high-value vendors and construction partners; manage invoice reconciliation, milestone payment structures, and contract compliance.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis of corporate expenditures, historical contractor and vendor pricing trends, and contract compliance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Review transaction workflows for accurate general ledger account, class, and project/task coding; manage and correct coding exceptions in NetSuite before they reach the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly capital accruals, amortization schedules, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations to support a timely month-end close.
  • Assist with accounts receivable aging research, revenue reconciliation, and billing analysis to support cash flow tracking.
  • Track fiber deployment builds accurately and ensure work-in-progress balances are cleaned up and capitalized on time.
  • Complete month-end close deliverables, capital accruals, and fixed asset reconciliations accurately and on schedule.
  • Provide department leaders and project managers with timely visibility into budget utilization through accurate variance reporting.
  • Proactively catch and resolve coding errors to ensure clean financial data and seamless audits.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with multi-entity corporate accounting and intercompany capital allocations or eliminations is preferred.
  • Prior experience in telecom, fiber utilities, construction, or capital-expenditure-heavy infrastructure industries is preferred.

About the company

NOVOS FiBER provides high-speed internet access by building a 100% fiber-optic network across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. It delivers symmetrical internet speeds, with transparent pricing and local, phone-answering support. The network is owned and operated by Texans for Texans, emphasizing community focus and straightforward service rather than national call-center experiences. The company’s approach differentiates itself through local ownership, direct local support, and a no-hidden-fee policy. The goal is to offer reliable, community-centered fiber internet that residents can trust and easily access.

What believers are saying

  • October 2026 pricing lists 1-gig service at $34.99 in Arlington and McKinney.
  • McKinney followed a $20 million private-equity-backed investment announced in 2026.
  • 2026 hiring spans engineering, network operations, sales, and support across Dallas-Fort Worth.

What critics are saying

  • Hexatronic became strategic supplier in 2026, creating rollout dependence on one vendor chain.
  • Texas expansion into Arlington, McKinney, and Phoenix stretches a small operator by 2026.
  • If subscriber growth lags, InLight-backed capital dries up and NOVOS FiBER stops expanding.

What makes NOVOS FiBER unique

  • NOVOS FiBER builds 100% fiber FTTH for underserved Texas communities, not legacy cable.
  • Smartoptics says NOVOS uses open-line systems and 400G optics to maximize fiber utilization.
  • Its site claims 37-to-600-plus employees since 2022, signaling aggressive scaling and local ownership.
