Requirements
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship consisting of 8,000 hours, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, qualifying military experience as a Navy Nuclear Electronic Technician or Electrician’s Mate, or electrical start-up and testing experience involving circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, variable frequency drives, programmable logic controllers, and capacitor banks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, including understanding spoken and written English and speaking English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%.
  • Ability to work between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, or replace customer equipment.
  • Provide documentation, including test reports and service summaries, to customers.
  • Instruct customers and personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Perform warranty work and start-up service.
  • Construct and test circuits and equipment using computers, workstations, circuit diagrams, and test instruments or equipment.
  • Provide technical support for product service, product training, and applications.
  • Analyze complex equipment and machinery problems and interpret maintenance manuals to isolate and correct faults using knowledge of systems and electronics.
  • Consult with product support and engineering personnel to determine solutions to complex system-operation problems.
  • Report customer suggestions for product improvements and existing product designs to the appropriate technical specialist.
  • Assist in developing design modifications and implement modifications with installation support.
  • Develop and maintain training courseware and provide training to customers and other service representatives.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships concerning equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain service equipment, tools, and documentation.
  • Coordinate and execute small Field Services projects at customer sites, including end-of-life, modernization, and upgrade projects.
  • Support Level 2 and Level 3 Field Service Representatives with removal of electrical equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints and other service documents, including specifications, reporting requirements, and quality requirements.
  • Perform basic audits of customers’ electrical systems and equipment.
  • Document all required information for each site in a technical report.
  • Communicate with the Project Coordinator to ensure smooth execution.
  • Document, label, and return defective parts used in equipment repairs to the designated disposal or repair location.
