Engineering Manager, Endpoint
The Basics
As an Engineering Manager at Tanium, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of brilliant software engineers. As part of the Endpoint Team, you will work across the product portfolio with product managers, other engineering managers technical documentation team and senior leadership to drive development of the foundational components at the heart of Tanium’s unified endpoint management and security platform.
What you’ll do
- Build exceptional teams of highly qualified and high-performance engineers by hiring, coaching, and instilling a sense of ownership and impact
- Work closely with product managers, security engineers and other teams to define the vision and roadmap with a focus on the needs of Tanium’s customers
- Provide leadership, guidance and support while nurturing a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive culture
- Team with other managers to coordinate requirements, designs, dependencies, and opportunities for collaboration and process improvements
- Lead by example, leveraging your technical expertise to constantly raise the bar and ensure that the team consistently delivers outstanding results
- Work with senior engineering leaders to adjust the composition of the team and create new teams as necessary to respond to changing business needs
- Effectively manage multiple projects throughout the entire software development cycle
- Ensure delivery of dependable, supportable, scalable, and performant software that runs natively on customer assets in a wide variety of environments
- Lead a team of tenured, senior systems developers, removing roadblocks and ensuring they have what they need to get their job done in the most optimal way
We’re looking for someone with
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or other relevant degree or equivalent experience
Experience
- 5+ years managing high-performing engineering teams, preferably in an area of systems engineering
- 10+ years designing, developing, testing, and deploying software products
- Proven track record of architecting and delivering enterprise-level reliable and scalable solutions
- Demonstrable understanding of systems level concepts in Windows, Linux and macOS
- A thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
- Outside the box/first principles thinker who can come up with pragmatic solutions
- Keep up with industry trends and can assess and utilize new technologies to help solve problems

What you’ll get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $175,000 to $530,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
