Requirements
  • Valid Journeyperson Plumber certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and infrastructure.
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration systems.
  • Solid understanding of WHMIS, OHSA, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull regularly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently use ladders, stairs, and elevated work platforms.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver professional service in alignment with luxury standards and follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Respond to guest room and operational work orders while maintaining discretion, professionalism, and cleanliness.
  • Coordinate with operational departments when scheduling work that may affect guest-facing areas.
  • Perform plumbing trade work across the property, including troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation.
  • Maintain and repair domestic water distribution, heating and chilled water piping, storm and sanitary systems, and associated equipment.
  • Respond to emergency and scheduled plumbing concerns while minimizing guest disruption.
  • Implement temporary and permanent solutions to maintain system performance and guest comfort.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs for safe, efficient, and reliable plumbing operations.
  • Complete assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain and repair kitchen plumbing systems and related equipment, including sinks, drains, and fixtures.
  • Conduct minor operational checks on kitchen refrigeration equipment and report deficiencies to the appropriate trade.
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of pool and spa systems, including pumps, filtration equipment, valves, piping, and water circulation components.
  • Support renovation and capital projects through planning, installation, and execution activities.
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on system efficiency, sustainability, and operational reliability.
  • Identify deficiencies, operational risks, and infrastructure improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate work documentation in the Transcendent computerized maintenance management system.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate required parts and supplies to Engineering leadership.
  • Maintain organized storage areas, inventory controls, tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, safe, and audit-ready condition.
  • Collaborate with Engineering team members and support other trades as required.
  • Support and monitor contractor activity for compliance with hotel standards, safety protocols, and project expectations.
  • Ensure plumbing work complies with Alberta Building Code requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Adhere to WHMIS, OHSA, and hotel safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in emergency response situations involving leaks, flooding, and critical system failures.
  • Follow hotel vehicle handling and safety policies when required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a hospitality, resort, or large-scale commercial facility environment.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
