Requirements
  • A Juris Doctorate is required.
  • Three years of experience practicing law are required.
  • Previous experience working with paralegals or legal assistants is required.
  • Knowledge of and currency in the subject matter of assigned courses are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to facilitate instruction and engage with students.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others is required.
  • Ability to learn online platforms and conduct virtual meetings with students is required.
  • A license by a state bar is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage online courses.
  • Teach courses via online live lecture to paralegal students.
  • Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that it meets department and college standards.
  • Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
  • Assess student grades based on participation, classroom performance, assignments, and examinations.
  • Assist and mentor students as needed.
  • Attend online paralegal program faculty meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior college or university teaching experience or other teaching experience related to the legal field.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Online or hybrid teaching experience.
