Company Equity
Wix.com shares surged over 60% in August after the website-building platform reported strong second-quarter results that defied fears about AI competition. Revenue grew 15% year-over-year to $563.1 million, with all segments posting double-digit growth. The company's AI application builder, Base44, reached $200 million in annual recurring revenue, doubling from $100 million just five months earlier. Management said Base44's gross margins improved to 60% from around 0% at the start of the year. Wix now trades at a $3.6 billion market capitalisation, still down 75% from 2021 highs. The company repurchased $1.6 billion worth of shares in spring. Over the last twelve months, Wix generated $2.1 billion in revenue.
Wix.com director Ron Gutler sold 5,718 shares of common stock on 27 August 2026 for approximately $488,432, according to an SEC Form 4 filing. The shares were sold at a weighted average price of $85.42, in multiple tranches ranging from $82.90 to $86.53. Following the sale, Gutler continues to hold 15,631 shares directly, valued at approximately $1.34 million at the time of the transaction. The sale was executed under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted on 25 November 2025. Wix.com shares closed at $87.62 on 28 August 2026. The cloud-based website development platform has a market capitalisation of $4.8 billion and reported trailing twelve-month revenue of $2.1 billion.
Wix.com shares rose approximately 2.9% on 24 August following the announcement of a partnership with Google. The collaboration integrates Wix Harmony's website-creation capabilities directly into Google's Gemini AI service as a connected app. The integration allows users to build and access Wix Harmony without leaving Gemini. Users can describe their desired website using voice or text, and Wix Harmony generates a fully functional site with built-in commerce, scheduling, payments, and security features. Despite the positive news, Wix shares remain down 54.9% from their 52-week high of $190.93 reached last September. The company, founded in 2006 in Tel Aviv, Israel, initially built its reputation on drag-and-drop website creation tools that require no coding skills.
Wix.com is positioned to sustain double-digit revenue growth through 2026, driven by its core business and BASE44 platform. In the second quarter, revenue rose 15% year-over-year, with self-creators revenue up 14% and partners revenue increasing 17%. BASE44 remains a key growth driver, with strong demand and newer cohorts outperforming earlier ones. The company's proprietary LLM, Base1, is improving BASE44's cost structure. Wix expects BASE44's non-GAAP gross margin to reach approximately 60% in the second half of 2026, compared with nearly 0% at the start of the year. For 2026, Wix maintains guidance for bookings growth in the low-teens percentage range and revenue growth in the low- to mid-teens percentage range year-over-year.
Citi analyst Jamesmichael Sherman-Lewis maintained a "Neutral" rating on Wix.com but raised his price target to $72, implying nearly 10% upside. The stock is down 34% year-to-date despite reporting $1.96 billion in annual recurring revenue, up 15% year-over-year. Sherman-Lewis expects Wix's AI-enabled Base44 platform to reach approximately 60% gross margin in the second half of 2026, driven by the new Base1 model and cost optimisations. Improved unit economics should allow greater investment flexibility whilst maintaining higher returns. The analyst believes stronger Base44 economics can support renewed growth, making the current price-to-sales multiple of less than 2x attractive. Wall Street consensus remains "Moderate Buy" with a mean price target of $79, suggesting 20% upside from current levels.
