About the job

Requirements
  • At least 7 years across product management, product design, engineering, or a hybrid of these disciplines, including meaningful experience in early-stage or 0-to-1 environments.
  • A track record of taking products from an ambiguous customer problem to a shipped solution.
  • Strong affinity for physical-product development; relevant experience may include work with mechanical engineers or robotics, autonomous systems, drones, automotive, industrial equipment, hardware, manufacturing, CAD/CAE/PLM, or related engineering products.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, Robotics, or a related technical discipline is valued but not required; equivalent hands-on experience building, testing, manufacturing, or shipping physical products is equally relevant.
  • Ability to take a product from a blank canvas through information architecture, user flows, and high-fidelity screens, and explain the design judgment behind the choices.
  • Ability to conduct customer interviews, visit customer sites, listen effectively, and distinguish stated requests from underlying needs.
  • Ability to reconcile customer needs, technical constraints, and business goals and prioritize accordingly.
  • Fluency with AI-native prototyping and development tools such as Cursor, Claude, Lovable, Replit, or v0, or similar tools, and willingness to adopt better tools quickly.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to work closely with engineers, understand APIs, integrations, data flows, and implementation tradeoffs, and create engineering-ready requirements.
  • Self-directed, low-ego operating style; ability to work quickly with incomplete information, communicate clearly, and close loops.
  • Curiosity about how products are designed and manufactured, including materials, geometry, tolerances, and processes.
Responsibilities
  • Run customer interviews and site visits with mechanical and manufacturing engineers to understand how products move from design through manufacturing and sourcing.
  • Understand the reasoning behind engineering decisions, including geometry, tolerances, materials, process selection, cost, lead time, quality, and production constraints.
  • Turn customer workflows, pain points, and unmet needs into clear product opportunities and priorities.
  • Establish a continuous discovery practice so product decisions are informed by customers' needs.
  • Develop domain knowledge so engineers feel the product reflects how they work.
  • Own the end-to-end user experience, including information architecture, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity screens, and functional prototypes.
  • Design agentic, AI-first experiences that simplify complex manufacturing and engineering decisions and require minimal training or support.
  • Design for trust by helping users understand system recommendations, uncertainty, and when human judgment should remain involved.
  • Set and maintain usability and visual-quality standards as the product and team grow.
  • Prototype and validate solutions quickly using AI-native tools before committing significant engineering time.
  • Translate validated concepts into a clear roadmap, product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and engineering tickets.
  • Partner with engineering from definition through quality assurance and launch, make tradeoffs quickly, and keep delivery on track.
  • Own product outcomes across activation, engagement, retention, customer value, and revenue impact.
  • Own the product roadmap, determine what to build and in what order, explain the rationale, and account for what is deprioritized.
  • Reconcile competing priorities across product-led-growth users, enterprise customers, Department of Defense programs, suppliers, and engineering.
  • Distinguish customer-specific requests from scalable product capabilities appropriate for the core platform.
  • Help establish a faster, AI-native product development model.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with agentic products, AI-assisted workflows, human-in-the-loop systems, or AI evaluation.
  • Experience starting a career as a mechanical engineer and moving into product.
  • Experience as an early product hire or founder at a robotics, autonomy, drone, hardware, industrial, or physical-AI company.
  • Personal experience building or shipping physical products before moving into software.
  • Experience with CAD, product lifecycle management, simulation, manufacturing, engineering, or technical workflow software.
  • Meaningful time working with engineers in labs, factories, field environments, or customer sites.

About the company

Accio3D builds an AI-powered platform that turns end-of-life inventory into 3D-printable files and coordinates on-demand printing through a global network. AI agents analyze remaining stock, generate 3D models and documentation, and propose optimal printing options and prices from distributed printers to print near demand. It differentiates itself by linking automated inventory-to-print workflows with a pricing and fulfillment network, focusing on lifecycle extension of legacy parts rather than selling printers or software alone. The goal is to help businesses cut costs and keep critical systems running by enabling local, on-demand production of obsolete parts.
