Requirements
  • At least 7 years of industry experience in software engineering, data science, or machine learning, including technical leadership experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience building and delivering Generative AI or large language model solutions, preferably production applications.
  • Experience architecting and operating large-scale production software, artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, or data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of large language models, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, context management, and modern Generative AI architectures.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with modern artificial intelligence, machine learning, and Generative AI frameworks and tooling.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures and production deployment of scalable applications.
  • Strong understanding of Generative AI evaluation, testing, monitoring, security, and responsible artificial intelligence practices.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate complex technical decisions to engineering and executive audiences.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related technical field.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop globally distributed engineering teams through hands-on technical leadership, performance management, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and delivery of production-grade Generative AI products, ensuring quality, security, scalability, reliability, performance, and cost effectiveness.
  • Guide technical decisions involving large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, model fine-tuning or customization, prompt engineering, and agentic artificial intelligence patterns.
  • Establish effective approaches for Generative AI evaluation, testing, observability, and production monitoring, including measurement of quality, groundedness, and reliability.
  • Evaluate foundation models, artificial intelligence platforms, and emerging technologies and make architecture, model-selection, and build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements, architectures, and delivery plans.
  • Drive engineering best practices across the Generative AI development lifecycle and resolve complex technical and delivery challenges.
  • Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, project status, risks, and priorities effectively with engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience fine-tuning or adapting large language models, including supervised fine-tuning, LoRA or PEFT, instruction tuning, or related approaches, with experience preparing training datasets and evaluating fine-tuned models against appropriate baselines.

Verisk CIO Nick Daffan steps down after 20 years as CTO takes interim role

Verisk Analytics announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer Nick Daffan has stepped down after approximately two decades with the company. Verisk Q2 earnings beat estimates at $1.98 per share on insurance growth

Verisk reported second-quarter 2026 diluted adjusted earnings of $1.98 per share, beating estimates of $1.94 by 2.1%. Revenues reached $806.3 million, topping consensus of $802.4 million and rising 4.3% year over year. Underwriting revenues increased 3.5% to $569 million, driven by annual price increases and expanded catastrophe solutions. Claims revenues rose 6.3% to $237 million, led by anti-fraud analytics and restoration solutions. Adjusted EBITDA grew 4.2% to $463.6 million, with the margin at 57.5%. However, GAAP net income fell 9.8% to $228.6 million due to higher tax rates and increased interest expenses. Free cash flow surged 57.9% to $297.9 million.
