  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or an equivalent tool.
  • Solid understanding of Transport Layer Security, mutual Transport Layer Security, code signing, and secure boot concepts for connected devices or Internet of Things systems.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery security, including signing pipelines, artifact attestation, and secrets hygiene.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment where the security playbook is still being written.
  • Ability to relocate to work at the Skip Bay Area office.

Responsibilities
  • Design and operate Skip's Public Key Infrastructure infrastructure, including device certificate provisioning, certificate authority management, key lifecycle management, and revocation across the device fleet and cloud services.
  • Own device identity and secure boot so that every MO/GO leaving the factory is cryptographically authenticated and firmware updates can only originate from Skip.
  • Harden Google Cloud Platform infrastructure across networking, Identity and Access Management, secrets management, and data isolation between development and production environments.
  • Build and maintain security tooling for secrets management, vulnerability scanning, dependency auditing, and incident detection.
  • Define and implement secure over-the-air update pipelines that ensure firmware integrity from signing through delivery to devices.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and security configuration using Terraform and Google Cloud Platform-native tooling.
  • Partner with firmware engineers to define embedded security requirements involving secure element usage, TrustZone, and attestation, and ensure that cloud-side infrastructure meets those requirements.
  • Contribute to compliance readiness for regulated market entry, including audit logging, access controls, and data handling practices.
  • Wear prototypes several hours a week to participate in data collection, test new builds, and provide feedback.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience securing Internet of Things or embedded device fleets at scale, including over-the-air update security.
  • Familiarity with embedded security primitives such as secure elements, TrustZone, Trusted Platform Module, or hardware attestation.
