- Develop clinical guidelines for high-risk and high-cost patients through clinical pathway systems.
- Conduct clinical research and assist nursing staff in applying research findings and pathway data analysis results to patient outcomes.
- Monitor resource utilization to assure appropriate levels of utilization.
- Assist with the development and evaluation of policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Ensure consistency of clinical guideline documents and hospital-wide policies with recognized regulatory and specialty standards.
- Facilitate resolution of individual patient care variances.
- Serve as a patient advocate and resource for complex patient care situations.
- Practice proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Immediately report mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee, patient, or visitor injury-accidents to the manager.
