Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience as Resident Engineer/Senior Resident Engineer, with a focus on large-scale projects; minimum total years of experience is 20 years
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or any equivalent
  • Contract management and oversight practicing skills is a must
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, quality control processes, and safety regulations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • In-depth understanding of the construction industry and local building codes in Dubai, UAE
  • Familiarity with UAE construction standards and practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience in managing and mentoring teams
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all on-site engineering activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines
  • Review and approve construction methodologies, work plans, and technical submittals
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and local building codes
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on-site
  • Prepare and present detailed progress reports, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies
  • Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals
  • Implement and maintain robust safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
  • Analyze and optimize construction processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness
