Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience working as a Materials and Processes engineer in an aerospace or military production environment is required.
  • Significant knowledge of aircraft interior materials and processes, including surface treatments, coatings, protective finishes, leather, upholstery, and woodworking, is required.
  • Knowledge of military and aerospace industry standards, including CMH-17, military specifications, federal regulations, ASTM, ISO, and SAE specifications, is required.
  • Strong knowledge of flammability requirements under FAR 25 regulations is required.
  • Proficiency in engineering design principles and reviewing drawings is required.
  • Excellent organizational and project planning skills are required.
  • The ability to solve engineering problems in a high-pressure environment and handle complex issues quickly and independently is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French are required.
  • The ability to work in a team environment and interact with senior management, professionals, and technicians from Methods, Quality, Logistics, and other value-stream functions is required.
  • Proficiency with CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform engineering tasks including material qualifications, cost-reduction initiatives, resolution of part nonconformities, production-line problem solving, and management of supplier material changes within the Materials and Processes Engineering team.
  • Lead the development of test plans, work with internal and external laboratories, analyze results, and review and approve test reports.
  • Support the writing, review, and approval of Materials and Processes specifications for completions and the associated Qualified Product Library.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings and change documentation.
  • Support innovation projects and redesign activities, and investigate new environmental regulations affecting completions.
  • Handle complex issues, make challenging technical decisions, and provide regular status updates to upper management.
  • Lead and participate in process optimization, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise in metals, surface treatments, polymers, coatings, protective finishes, upholstery, leather, woodworking, and interior flammability.

Sogeclair H1 2026 turnover $87.5M down 3.1%, stable at $89.8M at constant exchange rates

Sogeclair reported consolidated turnover of €78.1 million for the first half of 2026, down 3.1% year-on-year. At constant exchange rates, turnover reached €80.2 million, declining just 0.5%. Currency fluctuations, particularly between the euro and US dollar, negatively impacted results by €2.12 million. The French mobility solutions supplier experienced mixed sector performance during the period. Commercial Aviation, representing 37.4% of turnover, grew 1.2%, whilst Business Aviation declined 6.5% due to postponed developments. Defence fell 9.2% after strong growth in the previous year. The Automotive sector dropped 3.9% amid industry challenges. Geographically, France and Asia-Pacific saw declines of 4.5% and 16.5% respectively. North America and Europe excluding France posted modest gains of 1.1% and 3.3%.

Sogeclair Q1 2026 turnover at $44.7M, down 4.6% on currency effects

Sogeclair posts $181.1M turnover with EBITDA up 13% and dividend rising to $1.13 per share

Fourth-quarter turnover reached €42.9 million, marking the eighteenth consecutive quarter of growth since Q2 2021, rising 4.0% (6.4% at constant exchange rates and perimeter). Commercial aviation, representing 35.8% of turnover, grew 3.8% through customer diversification. Defence surged 28.3%, whilst business aviation declined 8.1% due to unfavourable base effects. The automotive sector remained stable at 0.3%, whilst rail grew 4.1% and space increased 6.8%. Sogeclair noted that market diversification supported growth despite geopolitical uncertainty and automotive market challenges.
