Requirements
  • An MD or DO degree is required.
  • Completion of a four-year approved or accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology is required.
  • Completion of a two-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery with demonstrated and extensive experience in advanced gynecologic surgeries, or completion of the ABOG focused practice designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, is required.
  • The selected candidate must pass an initial caregiver check under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and repeat it every four years.
  • The candidate must be proficient in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care at UW Hospital and Clinics and Meriter UnityPoint Hospital for complex gynecologic conditions through office-based and surgical approaches.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary pelvic pain clinic.
  • Develop and maintain an office-based procedures program.
  • Assist with and teach advanced benign gynecologic surgery.
  • Participate fully in call for the benign gynecology service.
  • Engage in clinical and/or educational research.
  • Participate in quality and outcomes initiatives.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in surgical training programs and advanced surgical training for faculty.
  • Contribute to simulation-based education focused on advanced skills development and resident assessment metrics.
  • Participate in administrative and committee work supporting UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
  • Work collegially with other faculty members.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three to five years of post-fellowship experience.
  • Experience in straight-stick laparoscopic surgery.
  • For appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CHS Track, meet department and School of Medicine and Public Health criteria for promotion or appointment.
  • For appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on the CT Track, meet department and School of Medicine and Public Health criteria for promotion or appointment.
