eMed provides an AI-powered population health platform focused on employer-sponsored GLP-1 weight-management programs. Its system pairs remote diagnostics with clinician-led prescriptions and ongoing adherence coaching to help patients with obesity and related conditions. The product relies on an Empathetic AI platform and biomarker tracking to actively engage patients and keep them on treatment, supported by end-to-end clinical oversight. It differentiates itself by directly linking medication access with ongoing patient adherence under a capitated, subscription model for employers and government payers, aiming to control costs while delivering measurable health benefits. The goal is to reduce corporate healthcare spend and improve health outcomes at scale through value-based care and continuous population-health management.

NFL legend Tom Brady has partnered with digital health company eMed as chief wellness officer to expand access to GLP-1 weight loss medications. The collaboration aims to incentivise employers to cover these drugs for eligible workers whilst reducing health insurance claims. Brady said the partnership addresses America's obesity epidemic by "democratising health and wellness in a way that the world has never seen". With more than 60% of Americans receiving health benefits through employers, eMed targets companies to provide coverage for GLP-1 medications. eMed CEO Linda Yaccarino called GLP-1 drugs a "pharmaceutical revolution", noting the programme combines AI, technology, and clinical support. The initiative offers both health benefits for employees and financial advantages for employers covering the medications.
Crux, eMed partner to expand employer access to GLP-1 medications. The collaboration aims to help employees access FDA-approved GLP-1s alongside clinical care, prescribing support, and payment and pharmacy fulfillment. Specialty employee benefits platform Crux announced a strategic collaboration with telehealth and digital health company eMed to improve employees' access to GLP-1 medications. Miami-based eMed, whose founding chief wellness officer is former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, offers an individual and employee health benefit platform that provides access to GLP-1 medications, at-home blood testing and a care package for common side effects of GLP-1s. Crux works with employers, individuals, brokers and consultants to offer benefits packages aimed at improving individuals' access to medication, including pharmacy fulfillment and home delivery. The partnership will combine eMed's clinical care model, including clinician evaluation and prescribing support, with Crux's payment and fulfillment infrastructure, which facilitates employers' tax-advantaged health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) contributions for employees, to help them access prescriptions, including FDA-approved GLP-1 medications. Members will have access to continuous clinical support through eMed, including dose adjustments, coaching and regular check-ins. "This partnership represents a pivotal step toward a future where healthcare is no longer reactive, but continuous, proactive and deeply personal," eMed CEO Linda Yaccarino said in a statement. "While GLP-1s are a powerful catalyst, they open the door to reimagining how clinical care, technology and benefits converge to drive better outcomes at scale. Together with Crux, we're enabling employers to lead that transformation while empowering people to take greater control of their health and their future." THE LARGER TREND Earlier this year, eMed closed a $200 million Series A funding round at a more than $2 billion valuation. In August 2025, the company's CEO, Yaccarino, joined eMed after serving for two years as CEO of Elon Musk-owned social media platform X, formerly Twitter. Prior to X, Yaccarino served as an NBCUniversal ad sales executive. A month later, X's former global head of strategic partners, Amy Elkins, joined eMed as chief operating officer. eMed announced a partnership with Arianna Huffington's behavioral-change technology platform, Thrive Global, to offer an end-to-end obesity-care program for employers. The offering combined eMed's clinical platform for GLP-1 and GIP medications with Thrive's behavior change and lifestyle offerings. eMed first launched in the fall of 2020 as a digital health company focused on at-home rapid COVID-19 testing through a collaboration with pharma giant Abbott. The company subsequently offered Urgent Care Telehealth Kits for at-home testing of COVID, influenza, strep throat and urinary tract infections, and has since pivoted to become a GLP-1-focused and AI-enabled weight-management platform.
Linda Yaccarino, now CEO of telehealth company eMed, has reflected on her tenure leading Elon Musk's X, which ended in July 2025 after two years. She described the role as requiring conviction and comfort with being alone during a "massive global transformation under scrutiny". Yaccarino, who previously led global advertising at NBC Universal, was hired by Musk in May 2023 to stabilise the troubled social media platform. She credited her team with modernising business operations, expanding video features and digital wallet services, and bringing back advertisers. "I couldn't have been prouder," Yaccarino said, citing the company's financial stability and profitability. She joined eMed, a GLP-1 weight-loss medication and telehealth provider, in August 2025, applying her digital revenue expertise to healthcare.
Linda Yaccarino, former X CEO, has joined EMed Population Health as chief executive, leading the employer-focused GLP-1 medication provider now valued at over $2 billion following its latest funding round. The health tech company addresses rising corporate healthcare costs by providing access to GLP-1 medications, which have shown efficacy beyond diabetes and weight loss to treat chronic diseases. EMed works exclusively with FDA-approved medications from manufacturers including Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. The company claims its adherence programme delivers cost savings for employers by reducing hospitalisations and chronic disease claims. Despite being the most requested employee benefit, only one in five employers currently cover GLP-1 medications due to costs. Tom Brady recently joined as chief wellness officer and investor. The company plans global expansion beyond its current GLP-1 focus.
Tom Brady, co-owner and founding chief wellness officer of eMed, has launched a GLP-1 care programme exclusively for healthcare professionals at $25 per covered life per month. Healthcare organisations pay the fixed rate whilst eligible enrolled employees pay $99 monthly, covering clinical services and FDA-approved GLP-1 medications. The programme targets the 22 million healthcare professionals working across US hospitals, clinics and health systems. Brady created the initiative to give back to healthcare workers who supported his career. eMed, recently valued at $2 billion following a $200 million funding round, combines its Empathetic AI-powered clinical platform with licensed clinicians overseeing treatment. The company reports members achieve average weight loss of 24 pounds, with 96% showing reduced pre-diabetes markers within six months and adherence exceeding 90%.
