Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Toro raised nearly $50 million in Series B on 2025-09-22, funding expansion.
  • Built In Chicago listed about 80 employees in 2026, signaling active hiring.
  • July 2026 reviews cited 4.9-star ratings and fast onboarding for bulk haulers.

What critics are saying

  • Toro's moat stays narrow; Descartes Aljex bundles adjacent workflows more broadly.
  • Month-to-month pricing and no annual contract make churn easy if ROI slips.
  • QuickBooks dependency and integration failures can derail implementations within one hauling season.

What makes Toro TMS unique

  • Toro TMS targets dry and liquid bulk haulers, not generic freight brokers.
  • Its single-screen dispatch, invoicing, and driver pay workflow cuts back-office reentry.
  • Text-based driver document capture avoids a mandatory app, easing rollout for fleets.
