Requirements
  • Five or more years of experience within a law firm.
  • Commercial litigation experience is required.
  • Experience with electronic filing.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, and agency rules of the assigned practice group or department, including state and federal court filings and electronic filings.
  • Skill in handling attorney time entry, travel arrangements, and processing invoices and expenses.
  • Ability to recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain it as confidential.
  • Technical proficiency and the ability to handle multiple priorities in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as document management and other office technologies.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the creation of legal documents and edit, proofread, and process correspondence, memoranda, closing documents, pleadings, and other practice-specific documents at the request of assigned attorneys.
  • Maintain paper and electronic legal files and organize and file documents in the designated order.
  • Update case information and scan and organize legal files.
  • Manage document deliveries and track final executed documentation.
  • Receive and evaluate telephone calls for supported attorneys, field calls, and convey messages as necessary.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and liaisons.
  • Collaborate with Administrative Support Coordinators, Paralegals, and other legal support team members where applicable.
  • Understand available firm resources and leverage the most effective resource for desired results.
  • Assist with overflow work and other special projects as assigned.
  • Provide high-level legal support to a team of attorneys and manage the professional responsibilities of assigned attorneys.
