Requirements
  • Payment scheme, operations, or risk management experience, ideally in a bank, investment bank, or custody bank.
  • Ability to critically assess processes, controls, and regulatory or scheme requirements with attention to detail.
  • Ability to systematically assess and challenge existing processes, manage multiple priorities, and deliver to deadlines.
  • Ability to use management information and data to measure performance, manage risk, and prioritize actions.
  • Microsoft 365 fluency, including SharePoint and collaboration practices for maintaining control artefacts, checklists, and evidence repositories, as well as Teams, OneDrive, and Excel-based management information.
  • Applied use of Microsoft 365 Copilot and experience building lightweight agents or automations, such as with Copilot agent capabilities, Copilot Studio, or similar tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics verbally and in writing to varied audiences.
  • Stakeholder-management skills and ability to work across business units and geographies and build internal and external relationships.
  • Knowledge of global payment scheme obligations, such as ACH, CHIPS, Federal Reserve services, CHAPS, RITS, T2, and SEPA.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee adherence to applicable payment scheme rulebooks and access requirements, including Nacha Operating Rules, The Clearing House CHIPS Rules and Administrative Procedures, Federal Reserve Operating Circulars for Fedwire and FedACH, FedLine Solutions security requirements, and other schemes as required.
  • Serve as a subject area expert on payment scheme rules.
  • Ensure amended and new scheme rules and regulations are implemented into processes and procedures in a timely manner, including mapping and updating regulatory rules.
  • Ensure procedures are in place and followed to demonstrate and evidence payment scheme requirements.
  • Ensure robust preventative and detective controls are in place, well designed, and operating effectively for business functions, and recommend control improvements.
  • Participate in central bank working groups and share lessons learned.
  • Contribute to reviewing incident reports to establish root causes, understand payment scheme impacts, and ensure issues are actioned and resolved.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Control, Resiliency Office, Regulatory Oversight, Risk, Compliance, and Audit stakeholders.
  • Facilitate payment scheme audits and regulatory examinations where applicable.
  • Manage and work with management information and data sets, ensuring timely completion of management information and ad hoc reports.

Northern Trust appoints head of private markets for MidEast. 15 September 2026 Chicago-based asset manager and custody bank Northern Trust has appointed Olivier Noël to the newly-created role of head of private Markets, Emea. Noël is currently country head of Northern Trust in Luxembourg, leader of the bank's Luxembourg-based asset servicing business - roles that he will maintain in addition to his expanded responsibilities. He reports into Nick Gilbert, head of asset servicing for Emea, Northern Trust. Noël joined Northern Trust in 2005 as its head of Luxembourg transfer agency. In his career since, he has worked in senior roles including as chief operating officer (COO) of Northern Trust's Luxembourg Management Company S.A business from 2011, and as COO for NTGS SE since 2020. He has been a member of the NTGS SE authorised management team since 2020. He previously worked at BNP Paribas Securities Services for five years where he managed a number of transfer agency functions including shareholder administration and commission management as well as head of the dealing team. He holds a marketing degree from the Institut D'Enseignement Supérieur de Namur in Belgium.

Brown will report to Chief Fiduciary Officer Laura Mandel and oversee the firm's specialised trust services in Nevada. Brown brings over 20 years of trust and fiduciary experience. She most recently served as director of special situs trusts and president of the Delaware Trust Company for Mechanics Bank. Previously, she spent two decades at Commonwealth Trust Company after four years in private law practice. Brown succeeds David Diamond, who has held the role since 2014 and will remain with the business until his retirement at year-end. Northern Trust wins $4.6B UK pension mandate, but scale questions remain

Northern Trust has been appointed by Warwickshire Pension Fund to provide global custody, valuation reporting, capital call execution and performance measurement services. The UK public pension fund manages approximately £3.6 billion in assets. The mandate strengthens Northern Trust's pension-servicing franchise, though contract duration and fees were not disclosed. Warwickshire's assets represent roughly 0.024% of Northern Trust's $20 trillion in assets under custody or administration as of June 30. Warwickshire is one of 18 partner funds in Border to Coast Pensions Partnership. Successful delivery could provide Northern Trust with a reference for additional pension mandates. Northern Trust reported second-quarter custody and fund administration fees of $512.3 million, up approximately 9% year-over-year. Management attributed the growth primarily to favourable markets and net new business.
